And I think its a stigma they will address within there relationship later on.

She's not a skank. He's not a skank. Her boyfriend is dead, both of them are single right now. It's not cheating. They can fck each all they want and it wouldn't be cheating. Ugh, I can't stand people throwing words like that around.

It's just probably very unhealthy. The two aren't really bonding on any genuine romantic level, just on a physical psychosexual repression grief thing. The specter of Conner is always hanging over them (hopefully not...literally), which makes the "relationship" very guilt- and pain-oriented...and for people trying to move on from death, guilt and pain can't be a good thing to force on yourself all the time.
That's basically what I said, but with more betterer words. :o

Yeah, I did. I said their getting together is like ****ing the memory of Conner. ****ing's a swear. See? The Hype blocks it out and everything.

I just have no interest whatsoever in those two characters as a couple. It's like if they had Jason Todd start dating Hal Jordan or some ****, just a whole boatload of no reason whatsoever to care.

Could have picked a better couple to make your point lol....

If Jason Todd and Hal Jordan started dating, it'd probably make both of them a lot more interesting.

No, they'd just get even more boring. DC would make a whole big event of it with all kinds of hooplah and media fanfare, and then everyone would actually read it and be like wow this is the most uninterestingly noncontroversial gay couple in all of history. It would be like Will and Grace except instead of Grace and Jack and the crazy assistant whose name I forget you'd just have two Wills sitting around being uninteresting at each other.

Hardcore religious fundamentalists would hear about it and try and get all outraged but then they'd read it and be like oh man I can't even express outrage at this since it's so utterly uninteresting. The comic would actually usher in an entire new era of universal tolerance for gays by making homosexuality so utterly mundane and banal that nobody would be capable of seriously sustaining opposition to it.

I would be. Everything in comics is fair game and potentially could be made into a good story. The problem is, you have to stick to it. Captain America's death, for example, we know will not stick...they will bring him back. Which is why his death was so stupid. Not because it was inherently a bad idea...but because no comic company would have the balls to see such a decision through. Same logic with Batman. Updating Batman worked well in Batman Beyond...in fact it was great. But in the comic world no writer or company would deal with the long term ramifications of killing off such an icon.

A superheroe especially such iconic ones should be a one of a kind at the right place at the right time. Bruce Wayne became batman when his parents died, right place and time he created the costume and alter ego and had the psychological mindset at the time to become the bat. someone else puting on the costume to officially become the new batman (not stand ins like john paul, or dick grayson) dilutes the original source character and makes them less iconic esecially the joke the flash has become.

Same with Superman but worse because he is so universally known and he is DCs flagship hero and main source of revenue (alongside bats) in comics sold.

Except they never planned to keep Supes dead. It was a Jesus rip from day one.

She dated Connor and waits a year and then dates Tim(connors best friend). Not to mention it was right after he was trying to clone Connor. That is a skank by all means to me.
I had a girl date me, we broke up, and then she started dating a guy I knew from the gym (pretty well too) at college a month later. What she did wasn't skanky. I didn't realize monogamy and dating people who we are close to is considered skanky.

Yes, because it's obvious that the feelings they think they have for each other were born of the bond they formed over Conner's death. That's just perverse any way you look at it--like ****ing your dead friend/significant other's memory. If it's any consolation, Tim is pretty skanky in this scenario, too.
I find traditionally, nerds don't like the idea of comic characters, unless they are playboys, having sex. I've heard Jean Grey, Kitty Pryde and a few others all be labelled ****s and skanks while they were being monogamous...I think it has to do with the fact that people like feeling more sexually mature than these characters...I don't know.

Tragedy has a way of bringing people together. Frequently relationships are built on them. What you are describing isn't skanky, it's actually quite common.

I don't know if that's specifically a nerd thing so much as it is a societal thing. I hear people (specifically women, it has to be said) called skanks all the time for much less than actually being a skank.

True. A lot of celebrity sexuality gets overblown in the media.

Thanks for the psychoanalysis. You should charge for this stuff.

i don't care how many of the extended X family shows up. Flash Wonder Woman and Superman whould have 90% in the hospital in 30 seconds and batman and Jo'hn would finish up the rest. Its like a blue jay trying to dog fight an F14

Wonder Woman, Flash and Superman would be at an extreme disadvantage against Phoenix, Magneto, Juggernaut, Polaris, Rachel Summers, Kid Omega, Storm, Vulcan, Iceman, and Mimic (since we're including extended roster) were to show up.

you believe what you want and I believe what I want.

and the x-men defeating the JLA is not fact. Its speculation.
until we see definitive proof in print its nothing more than guessing and personal biases. So i restate. You believe what you want and I believe what I want.
