Joe Wright to Helm 'Pan'

EXCLUSIVE: Joe Wright is negotiating to direct Pan, the Jason Fuchs-scripted take on the Peter Pan myth. This is all just coming together. Greg Berlanti is producing under his Berlanti Productions banner. Sarah Schechter is the executive on the adaptation of the J.M. Barrie classic tale.

This is an origin story that was hatched by Fuchs. An orphan is taken to the magical world of Neverland, where he becomes the savior of the natives and leads a rebellion against the evil pirates. Wright last directed Anna Karenina and before that Hanna and Atonement. He’s repped by CAA and Independent Talent Group. Fuchs is repped by WME and Brookside Artist Management.

Warner Bros Chasing Javier Bardem For Blackbeard Role in ‘Pan’

EXCLUSIVE: Javier Bardem has been offered the lead villain role in Pan, the Warner Bros take on the Peter Pan myth based on a Jason Fuchs script. This is the origin story pic based on JM Barrie’s classic tale that we told you earlier in the week has Joe Wright in negotiations to direct. Greg Berlanti is producing under his Berlanti Productions banner, and Sarah Schechter is overseeing for Warners. In Fuchs’ script, an orphan is taken to the magical world of Neverland, where he becomes the savior of the natives and leads a rebellion against evil pirates. Bardem would play the captain of the bad guys, Blackbeard. If the deal makes, it would ensure another cool baddie hairdo for Bardem, whose scalp also has shown it has range. Cases in point: He won an Oscar for his crazed killer in No Country For Old Men, played the tortured villain in Skyfall and most recently in Ridley Scott’s The Counselor. He’s repped by WME.

To be honest, I know they nabbed a great director like Joe Wright, and if Javier gets the Blackbeard role, that would be cool and fun..but yeah, I would rather have not him do it. He's on the cusp being typecasted in America.

If there is one thing that would make him do the role, and it's due to the director and for Javier's kid.

And wasn't the 2003 fairly fairly accurate too? I always thought that all of the stories out there Peter Pan had it easy because its the one done mostly right on film.

Wasn't the 2004 version that admittedly nobody saw (which is a shame) very faithful?

I also really enjoyed the movie Hook. But I know that I am in the minority.

Hook is a great movie. It's also a polarizing film depending on what generation you're from. Ove noticed that Gen-Xers and above loathe the film while Gen Ys like myself like it; or think its harmless enough not to hate.

The score is amazing, Hoffman is grand and the production value is fantastic.

Think of it this way. This way he has a chance of being a Pirate in a good film.
