Joe Wright to Helm 'Pan'

So the consensus is this thing is not gonna be all that good?

This is tracking to bomb, better hope for a miracle.

Writers just be waiting with *********ory excitement for a movie with a title with pun potential to bomb.

Oh, you know it. Still, I think in this case, it's warranted. If you're a screenwriter and you're going to write a script called "PAN", then you'd better do a damn good job on that thing because if you don't, you know those easy puns are coming.

The only way I'd be able to enjoy this movie is if it came with a complimentary personal PAN pizza.

LOL

I'm surprised Pizza Hut didn't do a marketing tie-in.

This movie went out of the frying PAN and into the fire.

I see this being a big hit in PANama.

.........another joke with the word pan.

There's a beer called PAN in my country. Unlike the movie, the beer is actually quite good. :woot:

was Jackman in any blockbuster not wolverine/xman that didnt bomb or underperform? :)

this is how the movie ends. SPOILER :lmao:

"Peter Pan: Hook, we'll always be friends right?
Captain Hook: Sure kid, what could possibly go wrong?"

Outside Les Miserables which made 440mil (that's a terrific number for a sequel), no he has not. Even something like Prisoners didn't perform as well as some expected. It wasn't a flop by any means of course but it didn't do very interesting numbers.

A lot of these Superhero actors only have hits playing Superheroes. No shame in that game but it's just the truth.

I don't get what the point of this movie is supposed to be.

Did they really think people were clamoring for a Peter Pan origin story?

I don't believe that people were clamoring for a Peter Pan anything. I think Hollywood should just stop making Peter Pan movies already, nobody cares.

Not that long ago, people here were talking about how great it looked, now that the reviews are coming in, everyone is suddenly wondering why hollywood thought it was a good idea.

According to Fuchs on an Youtube Talk show, it wasn't Hollywood that made the first move. He pitched this idea to various studios that was sort of his dream project and WB decided to bite. They even got him Jackman for whom the role was written.

That.Went.Well.

I assumed this was an adaptation of that Peter and the Starcatchers book, which was somewhat decent.

It's Hollywood. Anything that involves a prequel, sequels or gritty remake/reboot to a existing property is irresistible to them.

I saw the actors promoting this talking about sequels and franchise potential which tells you everything you need to know about where peoples heads were at with the movie.
