anyone who characterizes lennon as nothing more than a singer/songwriter pop star has absolutely no idea what they are talking about and are really showing their ignorance. please, go educate yourself. take the time to understand lennon and the beatles....you'll find your life much better because of it.

bono does good charitable things. but he really does come off as a *****ebag. im not sure exactly what it is. maybe its because U2 sucks. maybe its the way he carries himself. maybe because his name is effing Bono. but he's such a *****e. the edge too. can't stand those guys.

It sounds like you need to educate yourself about Bono a little bit. You may not like him, but he's done more than just some "good charitable things".

And for the record, U2 does not suck.

I don't think even MJ was as important to music and society as John Lennon. I'm not discounting the genius Michael was as a song writer, but he tried to hide from the world in his last few years. John Lennon stayed in the front the whole time.

Actually, John retired for a few years after his son was born. He was just starting to come back to the business when he was killed. That's what the song "Watching the Wheels" was about (one of my favorite Lennon songs):

i know he's done more than just some good charitable things. i didnt suggest otherwise. i was complimenting him for his philanthropic efforts. but saying it doesnt save him from coming off as a *****ebag.
