John Turturro IS Carmine Falcone.

I have no idea what to expect from his portrayal since Turturro has played every type on the acting spectrum and that's exciting to me.

What with him being a first or second-generation Italian American like the fictional Falcone, I can see Turturro bringing a certain authenticity to the part. He's a bit older and less refined than I was expecting, but that's fine. Reeves is clearly taking a talent-first approach to casting this film. Likewise, I'm sure he has something very specific in mind for Falcone to which the aforementioned Turturro is well-suited.

Great casting, but do we need another onscreen portrayal of Falcone? How much is there to the character in the comics?

We need to see his family, that connection to Selina, more insight into his business. I feel like Nolan and Goyer needed a random mob boss, and called him Carmine Falcone. I never bought Wilkinson as a Italian either.

Will Alberto, Sofia, and Mario be cast? Will Maroni?

I am expecting him to do some dance Justin Hammer style

I can see Turturro playing the typical Don Corleone-esque Falcone pretty well, but I'm also wondering if maybe Reeves is looking to modernize the character a little bit. US mob bosses in 2019 ain't exactly the dignified stereotype they were in the 1980s and they sure as hell aren't anything like the Godfather. So it'd be interesting to see a modern take on that whole deal.

It could yep, if the movie is set nowdays. We'll see.

Anyways very interresting choice, not the obvious one, but thats one the reason that makes it interresting. Like it has been said Carmine Falcone is a Don Corleone pastiche, so it can be reinvented... Turturo has also a lot of range, and has already played Maffioso mob boss. Very curious to see what is his and Reeves take

Uhm, why not? Gangsters have always been a great part of Batman's mythology, and I like that Reeves is not leaving out "regular people" in order to focus solely on "ZE COMIC BOOKY CHARACTERZ WIZ MAZKZ" and stuff.

No, he's literally just Don Corleone. He might as well be called Mister Mobster.

So...?

Italian mobsters have played a significant part in two of the last three solo Batman films. I'm slightly disappointed that Reeves' is going over such well-trod territory, but I'm not going to make any snap judgments until more is known about the story.

Interesting choice, but more so for the character.
What is the timeline of this movie when we have Falcone around, what is falcones role?
Im so pumped to find out more about this movie, the casting looks so interesting this far and im really looking forward to what they all bring to the table.

Actually, just the first two movies.
No Italian mobster in sight in "The Dark Knight Rises."

Cool. I wanted the mob to be part of the Reeves universe at least early on and even if in the background.
