It's early to cast Joker, if they confirm it it will be like when WB made press conference confirming Bale as Batman so I take WB to make a press conference confirming who is joker.

after the dvd comes out they will probebly sit down and start working on a sequal
they will talk when it will come out whos gona play and so on

I guess he could work. He'd certainly get the creepy side of Joker, but I'm not sure about his more manical and "funny" side.

My sentiments exactly.

Is it not a tad too early for this sort of thing? I mean the first movie has barely been released. I am taking all things with a pinch of salt until something official is confirmed.

Hey folks, Harry here... I know the headline seems to indicate that I've a negative opinion of this rumored casting exploration that Chris Nolan is 'allegedly' pursuing. However, nothing could be further from the truth. I think Sean Penn is near brilliant casting for the Joker. When making the list of folks in the current poll, he never dawned on me - but that's more my lack of vision, than anything else. For me - casting a man who was introduced to the public as one of the screen's great cinematic jokers in FAST TIMES AT RIDGEMONT HIGH... But who in recent years has seemingly had no sense of humor whatsoever... well, to me that's a really great basis for The Joker. The Joker - frankly, isn't funny. And if a joke is pulled on him, he never laughs - in fact, quite the opposite... he overreacts in a homicidal fashion. Joker was the sort of villain that'd pull a trigger on a gun at your waist, blowing your spine out your back... and then laughing maniacally as though it was the funniest thing ever. He's more Tommy Udo, the clown face... it isn't Emmett Kelly, it's John Wayne Gacy. NOW - this is just a rumor - and one that comes from a British rumor rag - but ya never know - it's a helluva choice - and not the typical random rumor... it feels smart.
Over here in Blighty's 'Now' magazine (celebrity tat), there's a potentially interesting story regarding a story that's crept out from the Batman Begins premiere party. According to the reporter, a drunken Christian Bale revealed that Chris Nolan is courting Sean Penn to play the Joker in the next Batman film. However there's still some finessing to do because Sean's apparently unsure about 'taking' his buddy, Jack Nicholson's, role. Could be guff but it's another potential to add to the list.

If you use this call me Dan Thunder

Cheers

I would take that, definitely.........Jack would give Sean his blessing, no doubt about that........Jack could even do a quick cameo in the film.........

Sean Penn would be an awesome Joker. Him and Adrian Brody are definately my favourite choices for the role. Penn is pretty short but these days camera techniques can change anyones height

Well I don't really hold this article as being credible, I have seen Now magazine and it's mainly about how Victoria Beckham is attepting to launch yet another comeback or what make up Sarah Jessica Parker is currently wearing. The whole idea of a "drunken" Bale, letting something like this slip, just doesn't seem right to me.

Sean Penn has proved many times over that he is a great actor, he may not have a sense of humour but he doesn't need to have one in his personal life. I could see him fleshing out Joker pretty well, although he is not my ideal choice.

The strange thing about this is that last night I was watching Penn in State of Grace (very underestimated gangster movie) and I said to one of my friends how much I would love it if he played The Joker. He plays Gary Oldmans best friend in that film aswell so it would be a cool contrast.

If Nolan could get Penn to play The Joker and Guy Pearce to play Two Face then BB2 would have an even better cast than BB.

IGNFilmforce (yes the same guys who reported Jack Black as Green Lantern:rolleyes: ) Now say Nolan is hunting down Sean Penn for the Joker. Now I think Penn could do a great job (he seems to have a lot of range as an actor) However I have an inclination to think this news is false.

(The reason I didn't post this in the Joker Casting thread was due to the fact that Sean Penn was not one of the choices on the poll):joker:

(a) There are already a couple of threads (and countless Joker threads).

(b) This is an unconfirmed rumor from a British tabloid.

(c) Quite possible the worst casting choice I've heard in a long time.

This choice makes alot of sense and would add a high profile acclaimed actor in Penn instead of a movie star.

Between the 1st movie being criticial acclaimed and finally establishing that this is a new Batman series, a big name villian that the general public is familiar with in using the Joker and an addition of a big name actor like Penn, the sequel would definitely make more money than the first and be capable of a $250+ million Domestic gross.

Hence why I said that IGN was the guys who broke the Jack Black GL rumor (which was a load of crap). IGNfilmforce isn't very accurate

Actually, the Jack Black/GL rumor, from what I could piece together, was accurate, but the plan got scrapped when they saw the outcry from fans and others. They're also the ones who broke the Gary Oldman news days before WB officially announced it.

I heard this morning on a news program that Paul Bettany had been cast as The Joker.

Vincent Cassel!
his french accent shouldnt matter too much, he wont be talking in a normal voice anyway. and there are voice coaches who can help.
his face is perfect, and if you want to see him acting like a psycho watch "la haine" translation "rage"

Yeah Glover is too low key and quiet disturbed indvidual creepy to be Joker. And have you ever heard him try a manical laugh? I have, and it was so BAD I mean it hurt the ears and he annoyed the **** out of you. TERRIBLE CHOICE FOR JOKER, HE SHOULD BE RIDDLER IF WE EVER GET THAT FAR....

MARK HAMILL DAMMIT!

You didn't put this into the Joker casting thread because.................

Oh and wow, cool manip.
