that's my pt though. it wouldn't be a stretch. people are choosing him because he looks like Joker and has behaved like Joker in past films. that's not acting and not helpful for casting a movie like this. if there's no difference between JOker and Crispin then all people are going to see on the screen is Crispin.

That is perhaps one of the most intelligent posts I have seen on the matter. Someone like Hulme who isn't widely known would be seen as The Joker the whole time and that's something I want.. not seeing Glover be himself.

I'm sorry but this drawing isn't a very good indication of what Hulme would like as the Joker because 1) even with makeup those kind of facial proportions is impossible and 2) it barely looks like Hulme.

Bam, that is who should play joker, I have no clue who that is, but that guy, is amazing looking, simply, amazing.

[edit]And Crispin Glover, fits the role, so perfectly, like, some said, passing up Crispin would be like passing up Bale for Batman, you probably wouldn't expect him to do good, but based on Willard, and his LOOKS, he would be brilliant.

Also, we're going for real, not cartoon-like, which was the Tim Burton. If you noticed, there were no chemical mishaps, there were no horrid mutations in Batman Begins, it was a guy with some gas and mask, and a guy who was just insane.

If you want a good JOKER this is would would be great:

• Long and Lanky
• Completely BLACK suit, no bright colors, he is friggin' murder he is going to stand out like a soar thumb, he may be insane, but he isn't dumb.
• Black to Green hair
• PALE skin, not dead white
• Lipstick, maybe with smeared lipstick to add to the crazy.
• And always carring a pack of blood stained cards, that would be total badass.

Nolan prooved to me that Batman can be done realistically, without flying penguin man, and ridiculous Freezermen, it was realistic, gritty, and that is what we need with Joker, screw the origins.

lanky's the wrong way to go imo. 'lanky' doesn't look good in a suit. he should be tall and slender; athletic slim in case he feels the need to 'dance' around while taunting Batman. and about him being dumb, he leaves a calling card. JOker is all flash and he wants Batman to come after him. it's a game between the two of them; always has been. doesn't make him 'dumb.' makes him insane.

If they wanted to go for a younger Joker (and I'm not saying they should, I'm just saying if) then IMO Jake Gyllenhaal would be a great choice.

And Jake Gyllenhaal would be an excellent choice. I didn't even think of him but some moments in Donnie Darko...take a screencap of that and manip it into the Joker, someone.
