I would like no origin shown, maybe only ghostly flashbacks (like wolverine in x-men 1 and sorta like in 2). As for looks I would like to see Nolan and Co. talk to some plastic surgeons and specialists in the field to find out what, if anything, could actually cause something that looked like a permanent smile and go with how that would actually look, along with the white skin and green hair.
As for his actions, I would love to see him portrayed as he was in Arkham Asylum and The Killing Joke: just really ****ed up and borderline demonic.
For actors, I would like Depp, Law or Vincent Gallo.

Also, to be classified as Batman's arch nemesis, he has to do something HORRIBLE to Batman (whether purposeful or inadvertently). Batman 89 had the parents angle and the comics have years of murder and hell.
I would like to see Rachel make it to the sequel, and have the sequel be about Harvey Dent/the mob/eventually Two-Face, with random news clippings about a deranged clown-like killer in the subplot. By the end, have Rachel killed randomly by the Joker, thus giving Batman a reason for hate.
It would also segue nicely into the third film, Batman's friend gone (dent into two-face) and his love murdered. Sort of end tragically like Godfather II (where Michael is left by Kay and has killed his brother).

I dont know, rammblings...
I like your idea alot, although i think Joker is going to be in the Sequal and not in the 3rd film....the 3rd film will be 2 face. SOOO maybe have joker kill rachel in the middle of the sequal....or sumthing...but those are sum cool thjuoghts:joker:

I think the Joker should kill Rachel in the beginning of the sequel and should get away in the end of the movie. Batman fails to capture the Joker

This has probobly been brought up before, but I really can't see anyone else playing the joker other then Adrien Brody. If you've seen the villiage then you know just how creepy he can be, and to me he just looks the part. But hey, that's just my opinion.

Mark Hamil. The one and only. His voice is perfect, and if he were to play it very dark in Nolan's film, it could be a huge come back (think Travolta in Pulp Fiction).

I don't think he's too old either. I don't see anything wrong with joker being older than batman.

I think Mark Hamill would be okay, *no offense* but he is naturally scary looking enough...if you gave him some make up, i bet he would be one of the best live action jokers:p lol

I must still say my vote is for crispin glover tho:)

No Mark Hammil, he does a great Joker voice but I absolutely can't see him as Joker...

I say Glover or Hulme.

I loved Nicholson's Joker in B89, to me that was the best comic book villain on the big screen to date.....he was great in that movie from beginning to his demise. But like others, Nolan should not re-create Nicholson's Joker for the sequel, he should do his own so it stands out.

I want the Joker to have a look like Nicholson's, but maybe more creepy in the eyes or something different. The hair could be slicked back or just wild lol, either one works for the Joker. As for his suit......i like the idea of a Purple suit with Pinstripes. But a purple tuxedo is the way to go.........or maybe have both suits in the move lol.

His actions should be very derranged and pyschotic. have him just murder people by either making them look like him, or poison them, cut there faces up....all are great ideas. He does have to be funny, but not all the time, maybe pull some one-liners while he is killing or showdowns with Batman. The laugh is key and i hope the actor choosen does it right.

Him killing someone close to Batman is a good idea, it gives that personal edge which is hard to do because we cant expand the movie like a comic book series (which is why B89 did well, Joker killing Wayne's parents was a great idea). So either Rachel or Lucius Fox should get greased by Mr.J

As for actors
Mark Hamil- does have the laugh...which is key but i dont think many people would want him even though i think he could do it nicely (he does look creepy)
Johnny Depp- What can i say, he's the man
Crispin Glover- Could also play the Joker easily i think
Jude Law- Great actor and i think would look good as the Joker
Lachy Hulme- Dont know much about him, but saw a manip and think he might do well too.

Those are the only guys i would prob want to see as the Joker and the only guys i think Nolan may conisder

Heh heh.

Nicholson was a great choice in my opinion but lacked several certain Jokerisms, hopefull, Hulme will be able to nail the character if he is indeed chosen.

I say dub Hamils voice for the Jokers. Get a tall, lanky unknown for the physical stuff
edit: oh crap, i forgot to put this: JK:joker:

All you guys have terrific ideas for what the Joker "should" look like. But as far as I'm concerned, it's Lachy Hulme. That being said, I'm more interested in his origins. I wasn't much for the idea of mystery around the Joker and how that would be more creepy. I think the audience "should" hate the Joker rather than being creeped out by him. I like Tim Burton's idea of the mob being thrown in and Jack being low class in it or a throw-around-guy.Does hits, robberies..small time stuff. Now here is my plot to get the job done in hating Joker. :batman:
It starts off (not the movie, Jack Napier's origins) with Napier being ordered to robb and rough up somewealthy woman with connections...Wayne's current love interest...Napier does the robbs the place, Napier thinks "won't killing her send more of a message" ...(crime bosses want to scare citizens of Gotham saying that even with the added aid of Batman the city is still owned by the Mobsters)...shoots the woman in the head, Batman gets there finds the woman dead, and tracks Napier to the acid facitlity or what-have you. Begin struggling,.Napier falls over the railing, Batman catches him. Batman then ceases to be the "good guy" and becomes Bruce Wayne,..an average man with waves of emotion crashing around him about his late girlfriend. Then Bruce consciously makes the idea to "murder" Jack Napier and lets go of his hand.
This is just an opinion. The criticism shouldn't be too ugly :joker: Tell me what you think. I'm sorry for the long post
