Well if you're still goin with the more playful, joking and lighthearted type joker then I guess you could still go with Jim Carey, I mean after all the guy can make the Joker's face without the need of make up, that has to count for somethin. I also think he was miscast for the Riddler role, that role was originally offered to Robin Williams who I thought was a better choice but he turned it down after he read the crappy script.

If you wanna go with a darker, homicidal and psychotic joker, my favorite btw, here's a name that hasn't been mentioned yet...how about Crispin Glover. Before you say no, remember his character in Willard.

All that being said I still think Jack did a great job as the joker. :joker:

Crispin glover is an insane person in real life, im sure he'd love to do the joker if they pitched it to him as a totally twisted demented murderer. I think he'd be great for a killing joke kind of origin too.... George McFly before..... Psycho nut job after.

I'm all for losing the purple suit with Joker, that was added to the character during the Batman camp days, lets take him back to the crazy, stone-cold killer he originall was.

As for the origins, stick to the comdien who turns into the redhood to make some extra money and gets dropped into the acid by Batman story, but why not spread it over 2 films like Sam Riami has with Harry Osborn. Have him work for Two-face (or whoever the villian in Batman 2 is) or being a secondary villian with a small part like Scarecrow in BB, then have a scene at the end of Batman 2 to set up that hes still alive to set up Batman 3. Just look at how much excitment Harry finding his fathers GG stuff caused/is causing about Spider-Man 3 (and who can say that wasn't a great movie moment), if it works steal it.

The purple could be very subtle, as in very, very dark purple, kinda brown look to it.

I'd go for the Killing Joke origin. I'd have the movie start off with the Joker pre-established. Not show any pictures of him, just rather have newspapers with artists renderings of him in a bright purple suit with the green hair and white face.

However, when he is revealed, he has a dark purple suit, his face is not so much white, but more pale, and the green hair is very dark.

It's already been established that the Joker ALREADY exists in the movie...

Scarecrow releases him along with a bunch of other lunatics out of Arkham. Also the ending leaves a cliff hanger with the mentioning of the joker card left at a crime scene.

So whatever origin they do they'll have to use flashbacks.

True. But you have to use spoiler tags because you may have ruined the endig there for several people.

Your entire post should have spoiler tags around it dude!

maybe the Joker should have his white straight jacket slowly become a dark red color throughout the movie with all the killings he does (blood spraying on it and whatnot) could work with a white suit as well

I dont want a white suit, it would be too reminiscant of the Dark Knight Returns Joker, who was also gay...:(

whose gay? (aquaman)

No, it also states this fact in the book "How To Draw And Sell Your Own Comic Strips"

It came from a good book, so I believed it. Anyway, lets keep this debate roaring!
