Tim Roth rules...

At first I actually thought Crispin Glover, but then someone suggested Roth, and I've been lobbying for him ever since.
I'd settle for Mark Hammil, but theres no way Sean Penn is better than the other guys suggested:joker:

Malkovich is a bit too old, but would be cool.
Marilyn Manson....What can I say? Inspired choice, but we haven't a clue of his acting ability.
I like Tim Roth but can't really see him as the Joker...he's a good enough actor to prove me wrong, though!
For me, the role should go to Crispin Glover. He's virtually ageless, an excellent actor and verrry creeeepy, if you ask me!

For the record, I just want to say that anybody (and it seems there are a hell of a lot of you) that thinks CRISPIN GLOVER would make a good Joker .... are severely misguided.
I dont mind so much seeing his name pop up so frequently, because i'm 100% sure he won't be cast.
All I can say is Im glad nobody here is making the sequel casting choices because we'd have one helluva terrible Joker in the sequel.
Surely Im not the only who thinks Glover is DAMN WRONG?!

After seeing Benicio del Toro in Sin City, I was a believer that he could definetly pull off the Joker!

Crispin Glover is the only person for the role. Anyone who thinks differently has no interest in the Joker, or simply doesn't know Crispin Glover's work. If you honestly believe old, ugly men could ever be the elegant, beautiful jester than Joker is meant to be, you truly have no clue what the hell you are talking about. True, both Cesar Romero and Jack Nicholson began the trend for old, ugly Jokers, but all Batman fans know the animated Batman series with Hamill's voice absolutely redefined the Joker. The lanky, elusive Joker is both youthful, energetic, skinny, and has a nose like Crispin Glover. To cast anyone else, would be to mock the vision created by those who truly cared about this great iconic villian. Shame on all who believe Del Toro, Penn, Pitt, Roth or any of these losers could ever approach the magnificent portrayal Hamill created.

Crispin Glover for Joker.

Clown "prince" of Crime isn't just a catchy nickname, his elegance and beauty is what makes him so damn easy to watch, and so shocking when he turns from absolutely ammusing to brutally insane/homicidal. Jack Nicholson was just homocidal, rarely elegant or ammusing.

Crispin Glover simply has the look, but to say he can capture the elegance and charisma of the character is, as you say, an insult to the joker.

He just might be able to. After all, he is an actor, and that's what they do...act like things they might not be in real life.

i believe that for me the 2 canidates are crispin glover and alan cumming. crispin really looks like the tas joker, but ive heard that his laugh leaves something to be desired. on the other hand alan really really looks like the joker in tkj and his laugh is very good

how about this guy

Paddy Considine from In America and Cindarella Man.

him and Paul Bettany are my choices

I just slapped some colors and stuff together real quick cause as soon as i heard Roth could do itm i was obsessed. He is one of the greatest character actors out. He can do sinister real good and had played the character severally. Maybe not laugh too much but he can definetely pull it off. Look and all.

hamill is another candidate I hear, but I just prefer Roth as an actor.

Jason Lee:

- Has the look (the nose, the smile, the chin, the build)
- Has the laugh
- Is youthful
- Can play charming (A Guy Thing, Heartbreakers)
- Plays a good maniacial villain (Dogma, the Incredibles)
- Has acting chops (Almost Famous, Vanilla Sky, Mumford, etc.)
- Reads comics; has even played a fanboy boy in a couple films
- Is good friends with Kevin Smith (who's opinion matters in comics, movies, and comic movies)

Jason Lee IS the Joker!

When I read a comic, comicscript or novel featuring the joker, i hear mark hamill's voice
if he loses weight he's more dynamic than men half his age

And having met the guy personally at a san diego comic con - and see him do the joker voice and mannerisms - i'm a believer Luke
