I don't know why the hell we're discussing this anyway. Casting always starts once they have a script and director. Right now we don't have a screenwriter or a director... so right now the first worry is to see if Nolan/Goyer come back. Then will be the time to discuss this.
right,we need nolan and goyer first.then you can start

Me and you are the two biggest Roth supporters on the boards. And our voices are being heard.
yea, to all of our annoyance. shut up already, we get it, you LOVE ROTH.

Roth sucks. Planet of the Apes sucked cause Thade was so ugly and over the top.

He's an evil monkey... how do you suppose he should look? "pretty"?

There were a lot of things wrong with PotA, but Tim Roth wasn't one of them. He did an outstanding job.

Julian McMahon for Joker I reckon... I got a picture and imagined him as Joker and it looks pretty good, also he's got a wicked smile...

You are correct sir!

The irony of this is that Tim Roth always comes across as very intelligent, while Crispin Glover comes across as a self-centred buffoon.

I think Tim Roth has one of the best "actor faces" I've seen. Strong, piercing eyes. The hooked nose. Even his bone structure. Tim Burton, in an interview on the "Planet Of The Apes" DVD, goes on a tirade about this topic, talking about how Tim Roth is one of the few actors who can deliver an amazing performance even under lots of prosthetic make-up, because of his expressive face and manic energy.

We talk about this like Tim Roth looks nothing like The Joker. Facialy, Tim Roth looks closer to THe Joker than Crispin Glover. it's only in bodily strucutre that Crispin Glover has a greater similarity. in my opinion, the ONLY thing Tim Roth has going against him in being cast as The Joker is that he's only 5 foot 7.

I disagree. Crispin Glover plays creepy, twitchy Crispin Glover in all his movies.

Tim Roth, on the other hand, is an amazing character actor. From "Reservoir Dogs" to "Pulp Fiction", from "Rob Roy" to "Planet Of The Apes", no two performances are hte same. Even his villains are completely different, rahter than him having a set villain persona like James Woods or Christopher Walken.

And, on the subject of "becoming" a character, look at Tim Roth's work with voices. One of his most famous traits is that he is a master of impersonation. He has never used the same accent in two movies. His American accent is slightly different from film to film, deensing on his character. Same for his English accent. In childhood, Roth felt he was being outcast because he was well-spoken. So, he took a week off school, then came back with a perfect Cockney accent, gaining instant acceptance. he can do any voice. So, for people wnating Mark Hamil for Joker, odds aere Tim Roth could exactly replicate Hamill's voice for the movie if he wished.

Yes, nice pics. but as I've said, Crispin Glover has looks, and nothing else, as far as I'm concerned. He can look the part all he wants, but the fact remains that he's a mediocre actor at best, and is a Hollywood outcast on top of that, due to his bizarre behaviour. I don't think that's the kind of commodity Nolan will want working on his film.

I'd say Tim Roth is a far superior choice. He's a superior actor, and a bigger name. If only he wasn't so short...

Man you're a great debater. :joker:

I have to go look at my Planet of the Apes DVD.

After reading that...My new Joker list-

1-Tim Roth
2-Cripsin Glover
3-Sean Penn

Planet of the Apes did suck, but only because it was insanely bizzare.

I'm still adement that Johnny Depp would produce the finest performance as the Joker. At the moment he seems to camoflouge into any role he takes on.

Forget Depp already.

He would never star in a Batman film unless it's being directed by Tim Burton again

Crispin Glover hands down!

I thought Willard was a sucky flick in my opinion, but he did pull off the wierd, dark, psychotic role well.

Depp? No, to 1990's.. We need a new Joker, a darker more sinicle joker, with a splash of humor, they finally got Batman right. Bale was the perfect cast!

Can't wait to see the new Bat Cave >=)

Crispin Glover's voice is just too squeaky. I've never seen him in a role where he didn't look nervous or fidgety. The Joker's like some insane gameshow host. Do you really think Crispin could pull it off?

Personally, I think whoever suggested Tim Roth is a genius. I was leaning toward Paul Bettany, but I think that Roth takes the cake.

Well, aside fromt he whole height problem, that is...

i duno i still truely believe that alan cumming is the best pick, he can act, we all know that no matter what rolse hes taken, and hes perfect for tkj joker (its uncanny)

I just want to say post counts don't matter. If anything, join date is more important, and even that doesn't matter. Citing post counts as a measure of superiority or inferiority just makes you look like an idiot.

Thank you! So true.

Firstly, you clearly admit early on that I picked a picture of Glover that looks 'just like the joker.' The point is, he does look like the Joker, infact, no one in the world looks more like the joker than him.

Secondly, I challenge you to find a picture of Tim Roth that looks anything resembling the Joker.

For someone who can't remember George Mcfly and hasn't seem Willard, you sure are quick to comment on Glover's acting range. Go watch the films, then you may comment.

I like how you completely ignore the points I made, and instead focus on answering this persons's points.

Oh, and here's an answer to your little challenge:

That's such a broad claim, you have no idea....

I think a purple suit is something you can't touch...but I'd like to see a variation. He's always wearing straight purple with green & orange, maybe a bit of light blue. Nicholson's wore plaid, a fashion moment of the era. I'd be more interested in a fitted suit that was maybe black with purple pinstripes, or at least purple with black pinstripes. If the suit is all purple, which I think would be the way to go, as easily explained by the suit losing color dye when he falls in the vat of acid, I think a different color combo may work better, but I'm no fashion major. I just think he wouldn't wear orange and green silk. Nolan's Joker will probably be more realistic than that, don't you think?
How about this for a kind of suit Joker would wear (modelled by Mr. J candidate Paul Bettany no less!)

Nicholson did one of the most memorable Jokers of all time, perfect look, perfect one-liners, just perfect. Its going to be hard to replace that. I just hope they go alot darker, I mean the "PG-13" now was an "R" back then, so there is a lot more they can do with a darker theme now a days.
