OK..I need help...what can I use for the mouth...the red smile he has...what should I look for

Hey, i know that some of you used the Willy Wonka costume coat pattern, but what pattern did the rest of you use? if i can't find a good purple coat i will make one, but no rush, it's only for Halloween.

Hey guys just finished my vest!

I made 2 to help me cover the cost.. so if anyone needs a vest it's on eBay now. It's hand tailored as close to the movie vest as I could make it.

You could search on the internet for a 1915 frock coat pattern. it's about the one that i have seen is close but tracking down a pattern was tricky.

Maybe those costume pictures we've been seeing on display there are from an initial attempt, before they made the final alterations for the movie? Would make sense. Either way it looks awesome in itself.

Sithcamaro... you and your sexy coats...

Yeah that.

In all seriousness, should have pics up later tonight of my makeup test, and then my whole costume will be ready wednesday!

Sweet vest! Howd you make the shirt?

Thanks!

I traced out a pattern and then painted it on by hand. I used stills from the movie to get ideas for the inside patterns, but I mostly just made up designs. It was fun creating my own.

Much thanks to everyone for the compliments/make up tips/marriage proposals! You're all very friendly. Also, I'm glad to see my fellow girls coming out to, you know, represent. Or something. Mad Joker love, babes. <3 Specific thanks also to Sixx for commenting, 'cause I'm all in awe of his outfit and so on. <3 <3

Grandczar--jeeeeeeez, good job on the shirt; I like the patterns. Did you do that with sharpies or fabric markers or what exactly? You said 'painted,' but the linework seems really fine.

heres a pic i submitted to rorysdeathkiss and one form las halloween. im working on dying an overcoat and groing my hair back out.

*bump* Lol come on guys, I need some constructive criticism/praises of amazement on my costume before Thursday. I like to think I did a good job, but any suggestions and reccomendations would be perfectly welcome. I have about 200 bucks in my budget left for the costume, so if anybody knows of a place to get the socks or gloves cheap I'd appreciate it. Otherwise, my trench coat and a green vest are in the mail, although I don't know how it'll look. My makeup gets here on monday, so I'll post pics of that then. OTHERWISE, what do you guys think of the photos? They are on page 102 I believe....*bump*

Lenze, this is not directed at you, but I am using you as an example. Socks and gloves can be found on EBAY.

Folks, if you want the best possible costume, put the effort in. Go back and read through all 103 pages of this thread and all 44-w/e of the OTHER joker costume thread.

If you don't want to put the effort in, cool, but stop asking for links we've been re-posting since page one, like where to find the socks/a look-a-like jacket/how to do facial scars. Somewhere in the previous pages, it's there. Thanks :-)

It's not as accurate as some of the stuff here, but I actually really like what you did with it! The base shirt is excellent, and you probably wouldn't have to put the honeycomb pattern on it for it to look mostly right. I think what you really need now are good pants - either more purple, or more pinstriped, or both! Oh, and the shoes would be better if you switched them for some old-timey wingtips. Those look too "normal".

All I'm doing for my costume is a batman shirt, bat-belt, harvey dent pin, citizens for batman pin and sticker, and joker makeup. It makes no sense, but it's for the midnight show. I'm using similar versions of the makeup you can find in the official movie-makeup set, sans-rubber scars.

To ensure authenticity, the makeup I bought at the party store is from the same company.
But curiously, I found a little discovery last night.
redpaperclip.jpg

I was playing with a red paper clip last night. See the top/end of the paper clip seen above? if you slip the paper clip onto the side of your mouth, with the end prong sticking to the outside of your cheek and leaving the rest inside your mouth, you have a reasonably authentic-looking scar. Not as authentic as those provided in the official makeup-kit, but it still looks pretty cool. curling the top/end of the paper clip and roughing it up provide even better effects.
Well, at least I thought it was cool, anyway.

pics of the paper-clip scars?
i've seen those "official movie scars" in action-
lemme tell you;
not only are they the same cast replicated twice, giving you a stupid yin-yang scar face,
they don't blend at all. this is the reason why i sculpted my own in the first place...
