does any one have tips for applying the makeup? like azspidey you did an amazing job on it.. any tips for us?
so i think ive pretty much mastered the collodian method . insead of making a long deep fissure i have varied the depth and width so it is deepest and thinnest at the top and shallower and wider near the mouth. its still not 100% screen accurate but its closer than alot of the dodgy latex ones i have seen.
i have also used some med adhesive (like nu skin) to build it up around the edges of my mouth and at the same time seal the collodian from coming loose. add a touch of makeup to give it a pink scar color and i think it works. instead of making appliances for the scars i am going to make a small piece just for the bubbles at the top and use collodian for the rest. that way i wont have to worry about edges blending seamlessly or coming loose. i know the collodian can last up to 15 hours if done properly.

festivus for the rest of us!so what on oct 31st just walk around dressed up anyway...create your own holiday...like festivus. =)
I'd like to think that the reason I didn't opt for a femme-Joker (even though I'm female) is because I have the balls to- ... bad phrase choice.
I honestly feel a bit offended at that. I'm doing a femme joker because I liked the idea that I pulled together. I thought it would be fun, to stand out a little bit from the other Jokers that will be walking around on halloween and different conventions. Also it gives me an excuse to buy a corset. Doing a female joker takes some "balls" as well. I mean there are a lot of people who have and will critisize the girls for doing it.
Many boys I've met have said rather "dickish" things to me about dressing up as a female joker. I pay no mind though, making this costume is fun. And reading this board is too. So in a way, I have the ovaries to stand right next to the boys looking damn cool in my costume.

I'd like to think that the reason I didn't opt for a femme-Joker (even though I'm female) is because I have the balls to- ... bad phrase choice. Trying not to sound manly, here. xD ...er, is because I've the bravery to traipse about as a man. But I do feel odd in my rough draft costume. Put on 4 layers of men's clothing (which completely suppresses breasts) and add that to shoulder length hair... = insecurities.
Ah, I'll be alright. So long as I don't get called "sonny" on Halloween night. Or referred to using any masculine terms. xD I should have nothing to worry about. I went to the premier in my rough draft and some guy standing upstairs a good 15 feet above my head called down to my friend and I with a "Hey, ladies!" We'll see what people think of my gender once I add the make-up and hair dye. Here's for hoping I'm better looking than I think I am. XD
Now... I still can't find anything that'll be suitable as a coat for the life of me. And I've been searching as often as I get the chance. I may have to end up doing things that hard way (which isn't a happy thing for me. I'm a slacker). I'm going to have to make my own or order something off the web as a last resort. My experiences with purchasing clothes via the internet have been very unpleasant. If only I was as lucky as those of you have just so happened to find perfect coats at local thrift stores. x.x I'd be satisfied with something that looks relatively like his that I could dye. Oh well.

My hero! *swoon*
Yes, somebody should! But people in Finland aren't really into dressing up. We have Easter and May Day, but it's only for children. Our Easter is like Halloween, but it's all about easter bunnies and (good) witches etc. and it's only for children. It was fun when you were younger (and a girl), but I think Halloween is much better... Maybe someday we will have Halloween too. I hope. That made me very sad. I feel bad now, somebody should invade Finland, conquer it, and establish Halloween as the foremost national holiday!

I'm also female, and I'm doing a "regular" Joker. For two reasons. One, I'm a perfectionist, and when it comes to costumes, that means screen accuracy.t: Two, my reasoning: if guys can have fun dressing up like girls (you know they do), why can't girls have fun dressing up like guys? It's a costume, just have fun however you like.
i did joker last year - because i knew it would be overdone this year.. and it was great - have some pics on my myspace heh

Thanks man....
How did you find out?!Please don't tell anyone else! And good find on the pants Blindside; you're right, those are the most accurate I've seen by far. I've been scouring thrift stores but I can't seem to find any purple pants, so I may just end up dying if I have to. But now at least I know there's some hope out there.
