Joker to make a cameo in Supermax film!!

Hmmm... well hopefully the cameo will be a good one..I wonder who would be cast as both riddler and joker though...

David Goyer wrote it, so could Heath Ledger already filmed his part in the movie?

This is interesting, I don't mind him in there in a cameo role, I love the idea of the Super Max movie.

Not really familiar with any of that comic lore. But, from the way it sounds...I get the feeling it's going to "get stuck in developement hell".

Either that or come out as a direct-to-DVD animated feature.

no Heath no cameo he is the only joker no one can do it like him

Jesus, you sound like the "No Jack, No Joker! He's the only one!" guys from two years ago.

Heath's performance will be brilliant, but, if anything, this whole situation goes to show that any character can be revived as long as it's presented in a new, fresh way.

That being said, if this film is produced, I think it's definitely too soon to see another Joker in a seperate continuity. Too confusing for audiences.

No one specified it'd be a separate continuity. But if it's along the same continuity as TDK, I honestly don't think anyone should take over the role.

There was a Joker well before Heath and there will always be a Joker long after him or any of us for that matter. So get over it. Batman and The Joker will always be long standing characters with many interpretations that have been done and will continue to done and loved. Those characters are bigger than any actor ever could be.

HEATH LEDGER IS THE ONLY JOKER IN MY BOOK

You really think it'll be in the same continuity? With the Nolan series just coming to an end by the time this is released, I get the feeling they're either going to have a recast for the third movie or simply have the Joker disappear (I prefer the former). If that's so, then it really couldn't be in the same continuity.

And I don't see Nolan rewriting the movie to accommodate the plot of this.

Not to sound like a complete jerk or ******* but it's time you all left Heath go. His memory will be with his performance as Joker in this movie but I welcome the idea of others playing the role or muddying up their shoes to give their interpretation of the character. Joker has appeared in many forms played by many actors, it's time this legendary character continues to have his torch passed on to a new actor. I also think if Heath were alive and he felt someone else should play The Joker he'd welcome the idea in the sanctity of an actor allowing another actor to be themself, escape into the role, and make their own by not copying or mimicing what was done before.

Why not? Him disappearing simply means we don't know what happens next. Neither TDK nor SuperMax have a defined timeline, so it's plausible that the latter simply takes place a few years after TDK, thereby skipping all the events that happened in between.

Again, he wouldn't have to. That is, unless Joker dies in TDK.

That's an impossible question considering it's unlike any role an actor has played. Absolutely no one here was begging for Ledger until they actually saw him in the role. Now he's the be-all, end-all guy for it? C'mon. Be logical.

That's a lazy, open ended question with no true answer. Before the new incarnation of The Batman series, many people (on these boards even) said that no one can or ever will top Jack. They even whined and moaned when Heath got the role and Crispin, or Mark Hammil or whatever crazy actors didn't. It depends on so many things like how he's written and portrayed. I'm sure there are plenty actors (some who we haven't heard of and some we have) that can play him well, but really it all comes down to the way it's written and brought to the screen.
