Judge Orders Bakery to Serve Gay Couple

Also, what 'gay agenda'? The gay folks I've known would just be happy to be treated like anyone else when it comes to marriage and legal status. They've never had an interest in taking over the world and forcing everyone to be like them.

Exactly.

I'm not surprised by Thunder's response...I think lot of gay right supporters focus issues piece by piece, looking at immediate instant gratification results but not well aware of history or looking at issues longterm implications. Sadly, some here are now open to opening Pandora's Box, treating it like a intellectual exercise...not knowing they are laying down pieces to society's ruin. It's sad...but we have to protect ourselves with the Word of God.

Don't be fooled...gay rights agenda is based purely on ..."if I feel like doing it, then it must be good and everyone should celebrate it" ...nothing that coronation around urges.

Fight the good fight,my friend.I'm out.:woot:

Oh for God's sake, Sentinel. Gay marriage is going to ruin society? How crummy is your society if a couple of people having garish ceremonies is going to ruin it?

Quite frankly if I have to chose between the horrible past you seem to love, and the Godless, Bohemian future you seem to imagine, I'll take the one you imagine.

No one is coming to take your Bible away. Gays just want some cake.

DS, shame on you. As a sharkshark worshiper you shouldn't be quoting anything that doesn't have to do with feeding.

And that's how Thundercrack brought the thread full circle. Well done.

I'm sorry, I just had to break vow long enough to make heard my plights, Sharkshark forgive me.

My vote for best post ever.

Oh, I can send you a copy. It's this rainbow notebook where every page has "destroy society with gay marriage" written on it in bubble letters and rainbow colours.

Well, with the help of tattoos, gay marriage will be unstoppable in world domination! ....somehow.

I'm just going to post author John Green's views on the subject:

This homosexual agenda, does it come festively colored armbands? Because I want chartreuse.

While I don't support discrimination of any kind I don't agree with forcing someone to do work that they would choose not to do, especially if it's your own business. It's the law in their state, so there's not much the bakery can do. I can understand why the couple would pursue legal action even if in the end they don't purchase from him. I hope the baker's don't start getting a lot of orders of people just to spite them and that the couple finds a cake maker that will put more effort into their wedding/reception cake than the resentment the 1st baker is certain to put into it.

In regards to the rest of the derailment of the thread, it's obvious that SentinelMind and HumanTorch have views that no amount of debating will change, the same can be said of the rest of the posters in regards to their PoV. All the continued discussion will do is keep fanning flames and make the situation uglier.

I disagree. I think, for the sake of making progress towards acceptance in our society, it's important that people openly challenge homophobic views when they come up.

Honestly I'm surprised South Park hasn't done an episode on this (it happened in Colorado, hence why it comes to mind).

I do think this could backfire spectacularly though.
