I love the first book, but I also love the first film and it is a big part of my childhood. So for me it would be akin to rebooting something like Indiana Jones. I mean I gotta ask why Spielberg would want to reboot one of his own films. Especially a film that holds one of Stan Winston's greatest achievements. For me the animatronics, score, atmosphere, cast, and direction is perfect. Can't see how rebooting it will do anything but be a cash grab. I'm just surprised so many are in board for a reboot of a film that left a lot of children and adults in awe. When I think of reboots or remakes Jurassic Park hasn't ever fallen into that category and always seemed safe.
If its just about wanting a closer adaption of the book well it was an adaption and things are going to be different. And another adaption of the book would essentially scrap the original and be like saying the original wasn't good enough or was wrong in some way.
