Can i just applaud the marketing team behind this movie. The way they teased the [BLACKOUT]Original Rex[/BLACKOUT] throughout the promos for this movie was simply brilliant. In this day and age where EVERYTHING get's spoiled in trailers and tv spots, i loved they kept this secret. At least, for me. The ending was just so fun, I couldn't have been more exciting to see everything go down the way it did. [BLACKOUT]W/ Rexy walking away thinking "I'm too old for this shiz"[/BLACKOUT] What a fun movie!

Here, here! So true!

My problem is the kid say's we need more teeth. Like, he does the math in his head and decides the problem they're running into is how many teeth are biting into the I-Rex. That's dumb.

I think you're taking that line absurdly literally.

He meant more teeth as in more firepower, something bigger.

It also was a last-minute change because the T-Rex was considered the star of the movie and "needed one more heroic appaerance". Besides, the book came out in 1990 and already put the T-Rex on the audience's forefront.

Not really. The kid had been counting teeth and rattling off obscure dinosaur factoids for the whole movie.

I can't wait to hear that line in context now. :funny:

I don't know. I thought it was kind of dumb you see the kid counting and then he says "we need more teeth". My wife and I laughed at the scene and not in a good way.

I just saw it. I thought it was pretty good. It had a lot of the vibes and feel of the original movie which was a big plus. Chris Pratt's Owen character was my favorite. I found the kids a bit on the bland side, especially the older brother. I thought Bryce did really well. The humor went a bit too corny sometimes.

The dinosaurs looked terrific. I think my favorites was the raptor and the pterodactyls. The genetically modified Dino was great,. and definitely a terrifying presence, especially that scene in the jungle with the armed guards trying to track it. The big Dino rumble at the end was awesome.

Overall I'd give it a 7.5-8/10. It just edges out The Lost World for me. But of course the first movie is still the best.

How's the 3D for this? I am seeing this tonight at 8:30pm but it's sadly in 3D and the 2D 8pm sold out. Considering I heard nothing about the 3D with this movie, I assume it's nothing special.

I loved it! I had a smile on my face the entire time! Great nods to the original and great fun. It delivered that feeling of being a kid again and I refused the urge to go to the bathroom during it. Just a shame that the cgi didn't turn out that good at many parts.

Glad you enjoyed it joker :)

I just came back and I really enjoyed it, it felt like a sequel to the original film, with homage that didn't feel forced but authentic. Chris Pratt was great as Owen, Bryce was also well showcased in the film. The story was easy to follow and was so convoluted as Lost World or Jurassic Park 3. The action was dazzling, score was magical and I got super emotional when I heard John Williams iconic theme playing not to mention seeing the original T-Rex!

Ranking
Jurassic Park - 10/10
Jurassic World - 8.5/10
The Lost World - 4/10
Jurassic Park III - Utter Trash!

Nothing to write home about, not distracting at all. I think there were only two points in the movie where I was like "oh...3D, that's fun I guess."

It was ok. It could have been a lot better and I didn't like that made-up dinosaur. I don't understand why they have to put something like that in the movie. Normal dinosaurs are a lot more interesting. Also they could have used the theme song more. :)

2,5/5

I for one loved the Indominus. It was terrifyingly villainous and smart. From the get go, the way to get's loose to start you know its cunning. Oh and the way it interacted with the other dino's in the park was really neat. In particular when it begins to interact with the pterodactyl's, you get a sense it's using them for it's own benefit. Also loved the way it was introduced to the kids, it was so creepy and well done.

I was really enjoying it until the end. The battle was just pure fan fiction with one moment in particular being incredibly stupid. Still even that didn't ruin an otherwise enjoyable film. The I-Rex was incredibly well done and creepy.

Jurassic World - Return of the original T-Rex
Jurassic Park - Sam Neil
Jurassic Park III - Only cause Sam Neil returned.

The Lost World: Jurassic Park - The film follows basically nothing from the novel. I really thought the book was better. The entire second half of the movie was made up. They try and take the T-rex to America and it breaks loose? It's the stupidest idea ever!

Sorry but I don't find Whedon's assessment from that clip any more on point than it was when he made it.

Her character:

Ran the park
Gave orders
Stood up for herself
Took charge
Literally rolled up her sleeves to get dirty and find her nephews
Saved them in the end by unleashing you know who

Just because she had a relationship with a manly dude doesn't automatically render her anything less than what she is - a leading lady.

-Cannot hold down a relationship/family because of her career.
-Humorless stick in the mud, because that makes her "strong."
-Needs beefy man/trauma to loosen her up.
-Rushed/unconvincing romance.

It is THE most cliché/stereotypical portrayal of a "strong career woman" that they could have possibly gone with. And there were ZERO surprises, you could call her "arc" from second #1 (and that wasn't even executed particularly well).

I agree. Yes, she was a high-powered professional corporate woman who gave orders and ran the park, but why couldn't she have been all of that without also being this uptight stick in the mud who needs a hunky dude-bro to loosen her up?

It perpetuated negative stereotypes of independent professional woman.

And I am sure all those that gave Joss crap will be apologizing about this... :woot:

Mostly consistently great, some small moments here and there that looked slightly off. The use of animatronics is definitely in the film, with the raptops, i-rex, and some others that looked terrific. Don't let some complaints twist things, this is the best looking Jurassic film yet.
