They rebranded the park as Jurassic World, they wanted no mention of Park because of the original incident.

edit: nvm annefan already answered.

Yes, but the incident in Jurassic Park happened before the park was scheduled to open to public.

It happened during a test-run of the park??

How the heck did this film make that much amount? It was awful. I guess they're starting to head into the direction of the TF franchise where no matter how bad the film is, it'll make bank.

I can't remember Lost World well enough but I'm pretty sure the general public knew of the original incident, and if they didn't, the rex escaping in LA a few years later would have probably brought up the original incident and deaths that occurred.

For you. Nostalgia, a likeable main character, and people taking their kids to a film they loved as kids.

Judy Greer is really wasted in this film. She is only seen during the beginning, some office scene and the end of the film. She is not even involved in the action scenes in the park.

But then again, so is Laura Dern in Jurassic Park 3.

That's a good point. I actually didn't think it'd make this much.

I was thinking about your point regarding the Raptor scene being reminiscent of the scene at the beginning of Aliens with the Marines, I also felt the scene where the i-Rex took out the Park's SWAT team was like Predator, the way it stalked them.

There were so many cool nods to JP as well, especially the Gyrosphere sequence and the opening shot that swooped over the Park, it was like the reveal in JP.

That was like the predator also yes! And loved those nods to JP too.

Very cool stuff!

Very nice. I'd be up for a proper JP series book full of concept art/behind the scenes stills, etc.

I'd be very down for this as well.

I loved this part of the movie! :)

Love these Hunter.

Awful for you, not awful for everyone.

Why the hell would she be included in the action scenes in the park? I'm sorry but some of your questions or nit picks are extremely silly and don't make much sense.

I think its more on the casting b/c anyone could've played that part, despite her talents.

Holy **** that opening weekend is freaking amazing. With actuals it might break the opening weekend record.

The assistant's death is forgotten and no one cares. Either don't kill her or give her one line of rememberance.

I actually thought they made her death pretty prolonged and dark for a non-horror movie. I would of preferred they didn't kill her because I haven't felt this bad to see a character die since Gwen in ASM2.

It's because she wasn't unlikable. If it were a situation, like in slasher film, where she was stupid or an awful human being, it would've been less..mean spirited.

But here, she seemed like a fine person who died in a vicious way. It's almost to akin to Eddie Carr's death where you feel bad. So I'm split on it because it's a 'Holy POOP' moment. But it's also like 'damn..I wouldn't wish that my worse enemy'.

But the BO numbers...jeez. it's gonna a Billion by like next week!

Some good parts, some pretty bad parts, overall entertaining. I'd definitely watch it again probably wouldn't buy the blueray though.

The final fight scene was sick

Yes, but in the 1st book I believe there was also a Raptor that Grant / Ellie come across that could change color / camouflage itself, lol.
Nope, nothing like that in the first book that I recall. Perhaps someone whose read it recently can confirm or deny. Perhaps you're thinking of one of the toys? I had a toy painted weird colors and the little bio on the back claimed it could use camouflage.

Haven't seen the movie yet but I'm really happy Chris Pratt is getting all this success. I've watched him since Everwood but never did I dream he would become a big action star in a record breaking movie! Good for him.

I bet the studio would have been very happy with $100m on opening weekend and as it stands it's probably going to get to their total domestic gross targets within a few days. Dinosaurs rule the earth once more.

This movie was stupid as hell, but I loved it :woot:
