Justice League script review

Good thing I always wrote "if this is true" when referring to this script review. :woot: I still don't have any confidence in this project but I do hope I'm surprised with the final result.

The script information that came out a little while ago should give you some confidence. That info alone is better than most of what Marvel is releasing today, that's for sure.

Aaaaaand...it's fake. And it was pretty clearly a fake. But half of you fell for it. Again. This is the second time in a week that Robert Sanchez has essentially been fooled by nonsense and panicked fans because of it.

It's getting sad.

You know what's funny, a little while back, Sanchez said that this script was one of the best superhero scripts ever written. Even better than the scripts for Spider-Man 2, X2 and Batman Begins. If he had it on good authority that this script was that good, why was he convinced these bogus script pages were real?

I guess those Smallville fans will have to find something else to make themselves feel better because this script has been well received.

Yeah, I'm really surprised that certain people who were previously supporting this movie, are now hoping that this film will turn out bad because Welling won't be in it... Not!

It is going to be a long fall & winter until February. I think the WB will wait until the last minute to announce everything. Why would they want to stop the buzz this movie is getting all over the net

I admit I have been a bit harsh on this project. I'm going to ease up and see how this project further develops. I'm just frustrated because I want a great movie but since the script was commissioned it felt like this movie was being rushed. Plus, I would be so pissed if this in some way impacts the Batman franchise and causes Nolan to walk before doing Batman 3. That was actually my biggest beef. I wanted WB to be patient and wait out at least 3 Nolan Batman movies, finish Singer's Superman movies(although I'm not crazy about that franchise) and then go into this project.

Damn! He really said that? Do you have a link? Not that I don't believe you, I would just like to read it myself.

Yeah, that's my only concern, that Nolan and Bale don't finish the trilogy. But going by what's been said by Charles Roven and Christian Bale, as well as how this film supposedly ends, I think we'll get it. Especially if TDK ends up being as good as it looks to be.

I felt letdown by Singer's SR as well, but I still like what Brandon did in the role and it did have some good moments in it. Singer is a talented director and we've seen him improve with X2, so let's hope he does the same with MOS.

As far as JL is concerned, I'm actually looking forward to seeing what Miller does with this. I do like the basics of the script, and I also like the reason why they're rushing to get this released - how good the script is supposedly.

I still don't understand how this is considered a "rush" project.

Let's look at the timeline:

Feb. 2007 - The Mulrooneys turn in their first draft of the script.
Aug. 2007 - Casting begins
Sep. 2007 - George Miller is confirmed as the director, a production crew is named and brought on board
Oct./Nov. 2007 - Cast should be announced
Feb. 2008 - Principle filming begins
Summer 2009 - JLA arrives in theaters

To me, that looks like a standard timeline for a big budget tentpole. And didn't Batman Begins and Superman Returns follow similar time frames? I remember the script info and Nolan's involvement broke in 2003, and Bale was cast in Sept of that year. A year and a half later, BB hits theaters in June 2005. Same thing with SR. Singer was attached around August '04 and Routh was cast that following October and SR came out a year and a half later in 2006.

So tell me again, how is JL being "rushed?"

I didn't know that execs from other studios had privy to the script as well. Or are the just hearing the same rumors that we are?

Thanks.

Robert Sanchez said:
on Aquaman, we been saying that he is part of JL for months, he's in it and he will kick ass. This script is better than Batman Begins, X-2 or even Spider-Man 2, there are so many scenes in the films that will make you giddy like a school girl.

I am getting that pre Star War release feel on this film, there is plenty of excitement coming from everyone including execs and other studios peeps.

This movie is going to be great.

Holy crap! :wow: I didn't see that before. Looks like I'm really going to have change my tune for this movie. How do we know that was the real script he read though? I hope it was. And if it was, why the hell did he believe that cr@p he was reading yesterday?

Looking at it this way, you're correct, it's not being rushed. I guess with the looming strike and the fact that they're not waiting on other franchises to play themselves out, it's being looked at as being rushed.

Exactly. The way this project was mentioned in the trades about how it needed to beat the strike gave the impression that it was being rushed. Plus, being made in the middle of the other solo franchises when it was always believed(incorrectly it seems) that it would come after at least 3 Batman and Superman films.

Hey guys, got off the phone with tons of peeps, its amazing how many people are still awake

Final results? Clint was had, we can confirm that these 14 pages were 100% bull****, thank god.

Clint is one of the most reliable guys on the web and it just shows that nobody is perfect.

Let me know if you guys want to read this thing. I 'll send it to you.
Who are 'the guys' he's referring to? I wanna read 'that thing'.

No, wait, I'm confused, is he talking about sending the fake script or the real thing to 'the guys'? If it's the former, nevermind.

I thought it was announced that the Mulroneys were retained in February and the first draft was handed in in March.

If you guys think this is real, you an idiot.

Plain and simple.

Paint me an idiot. I was under the assumption that Miller had come in and changed the drafts, since the 2nd draft which I knew of. Gladly I was wrong, I've already been hard on casting, which is actually unlike me. I am going to tone it down now and just relax and wait and see.

So first it's Al Goughs people toppled Welling's chances for Smallville, then WB released fake information that Welling would be Superman on purpose, now fake scripts are being sent to film sites...that is alot of conspiracy theories. I am not buying into this fake script theory, Mel Gibson is on his own.

Isn't my face red. :cmad:

I guess nothing is out of the realm of possibility anymore. I am going back to the old Showtime. Calm.

Kudos to The Guard for realizing the errors of the report based on his knowledge of screenwriting, I should have known better myself. :csad:

Yea i guess we should all relax, sit back and wait to see where this goes. I hope it ends up being a good movie and all that. Also i hope the film isnt going to be totally geared to the young kids/teen market. They can easily make it a more serious/mature tone feel and have the lighthearted moments that the whole family can enjoy.

:wow: Wow; I cant believe they both got fooled. Well theres stil hope its ight

All the fake script review nonsense passed me by.I find it sad that people are trying to dupe websites like this.:o

Prolly some die hard fanboy of another or other franchises sent it in, in hopes of derailing it. Thats the only reason I can think of as to why someone would have sent in such a stinker.
Pretty twisted and sad if thats the case.:csad:

EDIT: whats even sadder is that to an extent the ploy worked. most of us, me included, were ready to break out the pitchforks and torches...from now on I will believe nothing about this film unless its straight from W.B.

:( Even the best of us make mistakes.
