Great director, great producers, WETA.... All good news. So if the actors are good and the script is up to par then hell yeah!
george miller hasnt done anything to make him worthy of JLA in 20 years. thats not to say he cant do a great job directing, he may very well. but im not as sold on him as some other people. and WETA might make some incredible effects, but incredible effects dont make a movie good or worthwhile.
First time i read the Transformers script I thought it was a joke. Just like Bay (and everybody else) who first read the script for Raiders of the Lost Ark thought it was utterly crap. But both movies blew me away. As long as the director is good (which Miller absolutely is), then there is a lot more then hope. And if they get the right actors, then this movie will be badass.
people thought the Raiders script was bad? those would be people i dont trust to make films. and so far, theres been nothing to imply we're getting a good cast for JLA. all rumored actors have been very lackluster and less than inspiring.
What a group of amateurs thinks of a script is of little interest. They don't know squat about what a script really is. All in all, it's the director it all comes down to and his ability to transfer his visions to the big screen.
well, according to you above, it doesnt matter what pro's think of scripts either. either way, its not hard to read a script and be able to say if its a good story or not. im sure you judge films you see all the time, but your no film maker, are you? and if your no film maker, then by your rationale, your opinion of whats going on with these films is worthless. fact of the matter is, these sites put out story details of the script leaving you to make your own decision about them. so far, its not sounding good. i dont need superfirends for 10 year olds.
That's why Spielberg makes fantastic movies out of what seems to be bad script.
Raiders wasnt a bad script.
What I am worried about is which actors that gets cast. Miller introduced us to Mel Gibson in the 80's, will he manage to find someone new in not just one role, but seven?
really? 28 years ago george miller put a guy in a movie who's now famous. man, he must be magic, i'd trust him to do anything. but like i said above, so far every casting rumor has been less than desirable.
As long as no one of the heroes pees on OMACs, I have no problem with the movie having the same tone as Spider-Man or Transformers. But no Fantastic Four-tone. Please god no. But this is "Mad Max" Miller, I doubt he will make this WB's answer to Marvels Fantastic Four. No way in hell
george hasnt been "mad max" miller since mad max 2 in 1981 (the third one sucked). and you seem to have pretty low standards for the film (as long as no one pees on omacs). this is the JLA, for christ sake, the film needs to be astonishingly impeccable. im fine with the spider-man tone as well, it worked for all ages. but that doesnt sound like what we're getting. like the script review seems to imply, this is superfriends fro 10 year olds, and something anyone older would be less than interested in being entertained by.
I'm still an optimist. Life's to short to whine and to look at the cup as half empty. Peace out.
i have no problem with being an optimist, im optimistic and try to see the bright side of things whenever its warranted. but im also not gonna blindly pretend everything is great when there's so much to imply otherwise. im not gonna play dumb just to be happy.
