Justice League script review

it's your script guard :o :woot:

(i have to read it one day :yay: )

That's not the point. :). The point is...read those 14 pages I posted. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING but set up. And even then, the set up isn't enough to start the actual story.

But supposedly this WB JUSTICE LEAGUE script packs several major action sequences and introductions, the building of the satellite and multiple villain and plot introductions into 14 pages (which is actually less than what I posted)?

actually, uh, thats not entirely true. the amount of detail in a script is entirely dependant on the writer and whatever style they write in. some writers are very detailed, others not so much. some will say "and then a great battle is waged between the cowboys and the indians" others will go into great detail describing how the battle plays out. and nothing mentioned in the review made anything sound overly detailed or out of the ordinary. and mind you, this is coming from someone who has studied screenwriting, read many many screenplays, and has written many himself. i know a thing or two about screenwriting.

Hey Motown!

I think the issue is that the script is describing the techincal aspects of the special effects. Now, I am still new to screenwriting but everything I have read and everyone I have spoken with tells me that is a big "no no". Even if it was written as a shooting script, I can't imagine that would be the case.

I know I suffer from the "way too descriptive" in the action area. At least the people who read my spec scripts say I am very visual in my writing which I guess is good, right?

^What are the odds that tomorrow it's fake again?

lol let's see : the Welling rumor was said false then true every two hours at a moment? :woot:

lots of things are frowned upon in screenwriting, such as voice over narration ("show me, dont tell me"), but clearly people still do it and its tolerated.

This is true...pisses me off cause I am trying to fricking do it RIGHT! Fricking hacks...

Is there any instance of someone describing techinical details of the SFX in a script? Is there any precident for that? <--curiosity, not being a dick.

im sure there is. i cant name any off the top of my head, but im sure there is. and by the way, maybe im missing something, but where in the review does it say the script was detailing effects? the only thing i remember the review connecting between the script and effects is this was a 14 page sample being given to effects companies.

It comes from Stephanie's description from IESB. Here is the quote:

"The script opens with some notes about using Motion Capture during the opening scenes of the film (they should, this feels worse than ‘70’s Super Friends cheesy), then into a combination of traditional shooting and CGI."

This script is bull****. How can anyone take this whole thing seriously?

I was under the impression it was a summarized script for effects studios to get started on for pre viz and what not. Maybe I'm mistaken. Either way, I'm not sure what you're saying here. Are you doubting the authenticity. If it's supposed to be a full shooting script, I may be inclined to agree.

I don't think it's necessarily that it couldn't be done, but that it shouldn't be done. I think they could do something of that scope using an elaborate montage sequence, but I don't know why they would do it that way, it doesn't set up the action or emotional storyline.

I'm not commenting on it either way at this point; too many rumors swirling around, but it could be done within the realm of 14 pages, just not done well.

The more i think about it the more i think , that i overreacted : it can't be the real deal..

there are too much wild concept to grasp for an audience in Fourteen minutes . there are not even from the look of it a "main "character for the audience to emphatise, with ,who would introducce us to that universe.

it can't be real or Miller and co have gone mad..

I really don't like the idea of Maxwell Lord, OMACs, or Crime Syndicate as villains for the first movie. I guess I'll have to accept it though.

Let's see how it plays out. I am going to stay levelheaded from now on.

So forward it over to me and let me check it, I've edited scripts for secondary income.

I'm not allowed to send this out. After all, Warner Bros. would appear at my house and slip a black bag over my head. Fear teh WB ninja'z!!!11

I've read the darn thing. Trust me. You would if you saw the script. (Scanned, numbered).

So you have the whole script ?

how about your thoughts on it? with a detailled review?

or you could simply email it ?
