You're missing the point. The reason they haven't been in Nolan's Batman films is that they don't fit into the gritty crime drama stories that Nolan wants to tell.

He could mutilate the characters like he did to R'as Al Ghul and Scarecrow. Any character can fit into an organised crime Batman tale as long as they are written into it. Like The Long Halloween (Christopher Nolan's favourite Batman trade) or Dark Victory (Christian Bale's fave [though oddly, he doesn't like Robin?]) or Hush, etc.


Since the mob element appears nonexistent in TDKR how do Bane and Catwoman fit in?
