Why must they ruin the movies from my childhood.

Why must they ruin the movies from my childhood.
Because people still see these remakes no matter how much they complain about the lack of orginality, they still shell out money to see these remakes.

I don't think that they should remake the flick either but thats how it goes. Right now, all my outrage is directed towards the Robocop remake so I don't have time to be outraged by this one.:oldrazz:

People see them because we don't get served anything else. Hollywood has lost its sense of adventure, no longer are studios willing to risk larger budgets on anything that hasn't already got some name recognition. It's kinda depressing. I'm with you on the Robocop thing too, probably turn out as some kid friendly piece of crap.

I confess...I most of the time see remakes...just out of total curiousity. Can't fight it...when they do a remake of this film, I'll see it...I have to. sigh...

I can't believe they remade the ****ing Karate Kid. This is a new low.

It's not really a remake. The characters, and setting are new. Or maybe you didn't notice Daniel was black.

Please stop complaining about a movie you haven't seen just because it remaking it from your childhood.

how dumb are the people behind this movie?
its set in China, and as far as i know, Karate is Japanese and Kung Fu is Chinese.

So why the hell would someone learn Kung Fu yet the movie is called "The Karate kid".

That artwork on the sony website is still there, so either some inbred moron doesn't understand geography or they really are that dumb.

FAIL, EPIC FAIL

it better be called The Kung Fu Kid, because its got nothing to do with Karate.

After seeing that pic, if they ever do a live action Boondocks movie, that little ****er is Riley.

Well kids might actually think this is great, who knows. I won't knock the movie if it does well in that area. I remember liking three ninja's when that came out , i'd probably be embarassed to see that again.

2 was when he went to China with Miyagi and had that "fight to the death" in the temple with that one guy.

3 was when he 'turned to the dark side' for a short while...

4 had hilary swank...lol.

It was Okinawa, not China. As a fan of the movie you should know better.

I won't see a remake unless (a) it's a movie that is really deserving of a remake or (b) I can go see it for free, either on someone elses nickel or with a free pass/Scene Points, etc.

I agree with your assessment as to why Hollywood is so remake crazy right now. I say if they're going to make movies that have instant recognission properties, that will have an instant audience, I say make movies based on popular novels, childrens books, comics, Saturday morning cartoons. What would you prefer? Lord Of The Rings, Batman Begins, Twilight, X-Men, The Princess Bride, He-Man, and Transformers? Or remakes of Karate Kid, Friday The 13th, Halloween, A Nightmare On Elm Street, Invasion Of The Bodysnatchers, When A Stranger Calls, and Star Wars Episodes 4 through 6?

i was more angry at the fact that originally, this movie was going to be called THE KARATE KID (Japanese) when it's actually kung fu and takes place in China. They were going to friggin' mix up different Asian cultures and present them as fact in the movie, perhaps out of ignorance.

Looks Craptacular, that kid looks a little too Elementary School for the role, and is the kid relocated with his Mom to China now?

If there's one thing I'm gonna hate on more than Twilight.....it's this.

Are they gonna call it Kung Fu Kid, or Karate Kid.

I will tell you right now: If they stick to Karate Kid even though it's a China based movie with Kung-Fun (hell they even mention 'kung-fu' several times in the synopsis), people will get angry. It would probably be one of the most ignorant things that Hollywood has ever done.

It's like ordering a taco or a burrito at a Cuban restaurant. That type of ignorant.
