Katy Perry Thread: 3rd Times a Charm

That's what I thought, who wants a play by play motion of her going to her car?

I just think these casual photos of Celeb's are kinda creepy, but that's what tabloids do, employ creeps, stalkers, and attention seekers to chase down celeb's and get them eating, shopping, walking into clubs, and up-skirts.

Yup, Ricky Gervais put it perfectly in extras, "literally the gutter press."

I think it's all part of their job and it pisses me off when they whine about it.

Do you mean celebs complaining about the paps? I think when they are "on", such as doing anything work related like award ceremonies or premiere's, that they haven't any right to complain.

But when it comes to their private life, such as bringing their family out for breakfast or something, I think they deserve the same amount of privacy as us. As Ricky Gervais put it, we wouldn't give a hoot if we didn't have any photos of celebs at their worst, we'd get on with our lives.

When they start getting paid the same as we do, then I'll agree.

My "voyeurism"? I assure you that I don't care for candid shots of celebrities. It has everything to do with being spoiled, however. You can't have the best of both worlds. You can't enjoy the perks of being a multimillionaire, getting lots of free stuff and living an extravagant lifestyle and yet still expect to be treated like a normal person (who makes 40 000 a year and lives in a hole in the wall) when convenient. Every job has it's drawbacks. This is one of theirs. They shouldn't whine about it because they are very fortunate and there are lots of talented people to take their place.

Is it really a genuine need for the public though? As I said, when they are "on", there's a reason to take photos of them. However, who gives a **** about seeing a celeb walking to their car or having breakfast with their family? I can't honestly fathom why anyone would be bothered seeing those pictures.

Of course they are fortunate, but they are still human beings. Why we need to visually document every single step of their lives is beyond me. Why do you want to see these images?

No, they aren't necessary. But obviously some people like them or they wouldn't insist on taking them.

They may be human beings, but they live extraordinary lifestyles. I don't get followed around because I don't have millions of dollars in my bank account. I don't have a mansion in the Bahamas or a private jet or millions of adoring fans either.

They're welcome to give it all up and live in middle class obscurity if the paparazzi is too much for them.

Here's what Katy Perry tweeted about 30 minutes ago:

KITTY PURRY IS QUITING TWITTER.

Wonder if it's true.

No offense, but isn't she a little too old to be making fun of someone as young as Miley Cyrus on a public scale?

EDIT: On second thought, they probably share a demographic in terms of who buys their albums, so never mind.

They're actually friends.

Have they hung out... any other time than on the red carpet? If not, you can't really say they're "friends".

Do after parties count? Either way, they're friendly with each other.

Fair enough. Like I said though, they probably share a demographic so it kind of makes sense.

How has no one yet commented on how ridiculous this point was?
 Someone didn't read the thread thoroughly enough or he would have realized that someone has in fact challenged me about it. And my aren't we arrogant.

The notion that someone should lose their right to privacy if they are successful and wealthy is such an obvious example of intolerance. A rich, multimillionaire deserves the same freedoms, same rights, same protections as a blue collar factory worker.

The assumption that all of those who are wealthy public figures are "spoiled" is as ignorant as stating that all black people are gangstas or all muslims are terrorists.

Yeah look at those....shoes very classy.
