Keanu as Plastic man

Here's a manip I made of Jim Carrey as Plastic Man. After you see this picture, there should be no doubt in any of your minds that Jim Carrey is perfect for the part. You may not even be able to tell I changed anything, Carrey is so perfect for the role.

By the way, have I ever mentioned that Alex Ross is the best comic book artist that ever lived?:yay:

Carrey would be perfect for the role, but I doubt that was ever going to happen based on the fact that if a Plas movie starring him were successful, you KNOW WB would want sequels one after the other, and Carrey won't do sequels (he only did Ace 2 because it was in his contract for the first one, before he got big). And we all KNOW the way of Jim Carrey movie sequels that don't have Jim Carrey in them.

So failing that, Stiller or Knoxville wouldn't be bad choices, IMO, as they would guarantee at least SOME name recognition and would be just as suited to the part given the physical demands involved. 'Cuz Keanu just ain't my idea of Plastic Man.

Knoxville would be funny to,:D

I'm not sure Plastic Man would be the kind of Character for a sequel. Only the widely known heroes get sequels (for the most part). Oh and thanks John Connor. It was easy after I found ross's awesome painting.

15 years ago I would have picked Bruce Campbell. Now, it's gotta be Jim Carrey.

I am of the school of the thought that the most unconventional actor for a role is the likeliest actor to give a dead-on portrayal of the character. Let's be honest: before TDK came out, who would have believed that Heath Ledger would rock as The Joker? Hmm? How about RDJ as Iron Man? Even though the closest thing to a performance by Keanu Reeves I have seen recently is the trailer for the DTESS remake, the lie detector scene was very good acting, and it will be interesting to see what he does for Plastic Man.

RDJ never came to mind as Iron Man, but when he was mentioned right away I knew hed be good.

Lets see convential actors who WERE their character:
Bale as Batman
Eckhart as Dent
Patrick Stewart as Xavier
Ron Perlman as Hellboy
Snipes as Blade
and I always thought Chiklis would make a great Thing (big SHield fan here)

Now I would say Plastic Man is ahead of Shazam as the non-Superman/Batman superhero with the best chance of becoming a film the soonest.
Keanu or not, the Wachowskis should get it started this fall!

No.
There is only one man who was born to play Plas

Accept it

Someone mentioned Knoxville, not a bad choice but there are really good choices in this thread.

An unconventional actor doesn't work just because they're unconventional. They need a good script, director, supporting cast and a role which fits them. Unless they have the necessary acting skill and physicality to make the role work they won't work no matter who they are.

Arnold Schwartzneggar was an unconventional actor for Mr.Freeze and Alicia Silverstone was unconventional for Batgirl and they failed miserably.

It is not only that Carrey would be a good fit, he would also be an instant box office draw as well. Carell and Stiller would be a close second and third.

Agreed, Carrey seems like a good fit though i don't know much about the character to be frank.:o

Interestingly a pilot for a potential Plastic Man animated series was produced a couple years ago but never aired but it is apparently floating around on the web.

While I'd LOVE Carrey in the role I don't se eit happening, for me it's got to be Matthew Lillard

I think Knoxville would be the way to go.
