Nah, I think it's more that Rose just doesn't have a parallel in the OT, and J.J.'s prime directive is to rehash the OT. Rey is the new Luke, Poe is the new Han, BB-8 is the new R2, Chewbacca is still Chewbacca, C-3PO is still C-3PO, Finn is the new Leia, Luke is the new Yoda, Han is the new Obi-Wan, Leia is the new Mon Mothma, Kylo is the new Vader, Snoke was the new Palpatine until he was replaced with the old Palpatine. What OT role is left for Rose?

She got worse than Jar Jar'd in my opinion. I expected her to be shoved into the background, but to write in an exchange where she basically turns down an adventure to do homework was embarrassing. Tran looked miserable in that scene and I don't blame her.

Rose was basically friend zoned and forgotten by Finn. I wasn't crazy about her character in the last film myself ,but even I concede that it sucked for her that she was reduced to being one of many other resistance fighters.

Maybe there's more stuff on the cutting room floor.

I known she did have a lot of screen time in the movie but i am really glade lol. I didnt like her in TLJ and she took Rey and Fin from being together something i really loved about TFA and has a result of her not getting much screen time in this we got more of Rey and Fin together again.

And honestly i liked her in TLJ. The more i watch the film my liking for her grows and she's definitely the type of person I'd want having my back in life. I think that adds even more to me being pissed off about how they used her here.
