It's true that Straczynski's later work on Spider-Man was disappointing, but that had a lot to do with the editorial influence. His current run on Thor, while slow, shows respect for Thor's mythology. I trust that his work on the script will only improve it.

JMS is rewriting the script? That´s excellent news. Babylon 5 was the best Sci-Fi series of the 90ies (not counting the dreadful 5th season), Rising Stars and Supreme Power were great comic books.

Okay, with Brannagh and JMS on board, this could be the top movie of 2010. Let´s hope, there will be a casting announcement soon!

Cuz god knows, no one else gave a **** about that movie....I think the Academy does that on purpose, nominates films no one cares about just to spit in the face of the common movie going public

I didn't mean it that way....I don't care for HSM....but to your other statement...just because something is popular makes it crappy? or do people just say they "hate" popular things to be edgy and cool and all that??

Lots of popular stuff today is crap. "High school musical", "Beverly Hills Chiuahaua"?
And while I enjoyed "Iron Man", quality wise it disappears (IMHO) in front of "The Wrestler" or "The Hurt Locker".

Maybe. I didn't even mind the mystical angle when he first introduced it, b/c we didn't have to accept it. Maybe it was the radiation, maybe it was the totem thing. But we were taken too far down that road.

I had an idea on the direction of this movie


show Asguard and all Asguardians in Compleate CGI..ala Beowulf, and then have Thor cross the bridge of light to protect the Midguard and humanity and enter the real world.

Then you're only making the film more expensive. And we'd never get to see non-CG Odin and the gang.
