Kevin Smith also wants Keaton as Batman for JLA !

If JLA has Keaton as Batman, the line "Are you stupid? Are you a ******? I'm the Goddamn Batman!" and Batman sacrificing his life V For Vendetta style and destroying the bad guys it will be better than The Godfather, Shawshank Redemption, Schindler's List, Pulp Fiction and One Flew over The Cuckoo's Nest COMBINED!

And that's the funny thing.... that's the kind of line Keaton would love to deliver. But he would probably cut it from the script, citing that it isn't something Batman would say, like he did with half of the BR script.

Keaton as Batman would probably be the coolest thing ever.

Of course, in that case Supes and everyone else would have to be older.
As such it would negate the possibility of it being a JLA origin film, and that won't be what the studio wants to do.

... Still, it's nice thought.

Keaton for Kingdom Come

CFE

JL movie for project that never happened.

Keaton is the best actor to play the bat period.

Indeed. And from a marketing stand point it would be brilliant, since not only is he established and over with the fans but it would be probably the only way to make them forget about Bale not being in this movie.

If it's not Bale, Keaton is the only other logical choice, in my book.

There are two Batman universes - Burton's and Nolan's. If JLA is not connected to Nolan's universe, it should be the return to Burton's. A THIRD universe for Batman seems really unnecessary to me.

your right there

plus who could top bale and keaton's prefomances today

If Roger Moore can play James Bond until he's fifty-EIGHT years old, then I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to believe Michael Keaton as a fifty-six year-old Caped Crusader.

Exactly. Not only that. In 2007 and 2008 all the iconic characters are returning played by 50 and 60 year old actors. Rocky, Rambo, Indiana Jones and John McClaine just to mention a few of them. And how many times did we see Sean Connery in action movies in his 60 and 70's ?
Sometimes you make it seem like Keaton is incapacitated ! It's a friggin' movie, it's not like Keaton is required to do all that stuff in real life. Neither is Bale for that matter.

well, James Bond is originally supposed to be in his 50s. In his first novel "Casino Royale" he considers retirement from the secret service. So a 50+ James Bond is truer to the source material.

If Keaton were cast as Batman, I would immediately get hyped for a JLA movie that I strongly believe should NOT be happening. I don't give a **** how old he is.

That being said, it probably won't happen.

Actually, Bond is supposed to be in his early to mid-40's. Retirement age for Double-O agents is 45 and since Bond is generally depicted as being a "seasoned" agent then it's safe to assume that the cinematic Bond is meant to be that age. Roger Moore was nearly sixty and getting a bit long in the tooth to convincingly play 007.

Have you seen Keaton recently?
The guys way too old to play Batman

I disagree. Besides, isn't it safe to assume that there will be very little actual "Bruce Wayne" in this film and rather, a lot more "Batman?" Remember, in the costume, the only part of him that's actually exposed is his jawline area. And Keaton seems to be the same build he was when he was Batman from 1989-1992. He hasn't gained the obligatory spare tire that a lot of former "action actors" his age have. Even looking at Keaton now it wouldn't be too difficult to imagine him in that suit again.

But that was to settle down with Vesper, not because he's nearing retirement age.

Batman and Robin ain't dynamic duo anymore :brucebat:
