That wedding was hilarious.

Saw a next week promo that they will have Stan Lee in the show

I've only seen the first episode of this season. I have a hard time staying up that late to see it. Is it any better than the first season?

not really, might watch next week only because Stan Lee is on

Stan's sitting on the counter and the guys are all sitting on the floor looking up at Stan in wonderment listening to his pearls of wisdom, no doubt... :woot:

I think this season has been pretty awesome. Would've been better if they had the whole hour again. Mewes was pretty funny on last nite's and the episode Brian O'Halleran (sp?) was great

and it's the first time I ever saw Walt not even haggle but instantly accepted the seller's asking price of $600 for that Marvelworld toy...

and Walt will ALWAYS talk you down...

and then Kevin PAYS for the Marvelworld, yet, as a gift for Walt...

some of the prices they state or ask for makes me wonder where they get the price for it when I know I can sell some of the items for more then they claim it's worth

Does anyone know if the show is available to watch online anywhere?

I noticed every time the show ends and with Kevin and the rest signing off that the last scene is the switch going off and it's atop two boxes that have Kevin and Walt's Batman stories of The Widening Gyre and Cacophony.

it amazes me that Walt Flanagan can describe Stan Lee perfectly as the "cooler Walt Disney" when it comes to Stan's impact on American culture...

and then when he has Stan in front of him, what does he go and do?... he asks him the most stupidest geek fanboy question possible...

"who would win in a fight between Thor and the Hulk?"

the only one who was cool about it all and who wasn't all goofy and gaga and fawning about Stan being there was Bryan...

was great when Stan was leaving, he hopped into the limo with him, while the rest of the Stash crew were just standing there looking like dumbasses...

and now that I think about it... what IS Bryan's story?... what DOES he do?... he doesn't seem like a comicbook person per se, just someone who's not into comics and just works there...

that must be why he seemed like he wasn't all that impressed about Stan's being there...

From Wikipedia

Bryan Lee Johnson (born December 6, 1967) is a writer, actor, podcaster, screenwriter and comic book writer associated with Kevin Smith and the View Askewniverse. He is best known by his local fame in New Jersey and appearances in filmmaker Kevin Smith's New Jersey films as comic book fan Steve-Dave Pulasti. He was also the basis for the Clerks character Randal Graves.[1] Through his friendship with Smith, he was often involved in his productions until Smith moved to Los Angeles. He worked briefly at the Los Angeles branch of Smith's comic book store, Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash.[2] He became co-host of the Tell 'Em Steve-Dave! Podcast with friend Walt Flanagan and Brian Quinn. He also stars in the AMC reality series Comic Book Men.
Johnson has collaborated with Flanagan in creating comics adapted from their screenplays, including the 2004 miniseries Karney[3] and the 2007 miniseres War of the Undead.[4]

huh... just doesn't give that impression most of the time on the show...

he just seems always to be there just sitting on his ass, with what seems to be a reasonable knowledge of comics and is just a hanger-on with a smartass or funny remark every so often ... he never seems to be doing anything of any real importance at the shop or any sort of work there...

at least that's how it looks to ME most of the time...

He doesn't actually work there. He just hangs around because he's friends with the guys that do work there.

I hope when the show comes back, it'll go back to an hour-long format. It'll be airing on Thursdays in February, so it won't have to compete with TWD anymore.

Really pisses me off how they snipped a half-hour of Comic-Book Men, just so they can add Talking Dead to the lineup. I get it, TWD is a hit. But Talking Dead is just a show about people talking about ANOTHER show. Ugh.

Any word on a DVD release of Comic-Book Men?

An hour time block was way too ****ing long for this show. You had to watch just as much commercials as you did the show.

It will still be a half hour, I prefer that format.

9/8c Comic Book Men
930/830c Freakshow
10/9c Immortalized

Talking Dead gets double the viewership and is probably even cheaper to produce. Comic Book Men had their chance airing after The Walking Dead it didn't retain much of the audience, Talking Dead does a better job.

Hopefully this fall AMC will have a drama air after TWD.

At one time he was, I think, because I waited on me at the LA Secret Stash store.

The whole show is starting to feel more set up behind the scenes.
And the new seasons feels different, maybe they aren't talking about comics as much. Like sitting around the store and talking, and kevin Smith talking. It feels more like Kevin says what happened this week and thats all. I don't know, its different.

He may have at some point. But I'm pretty sure they've explicitly said before that he doesn't work there on the show.

Yeah, I wondered why he was working at the LA store when Kevin says he doesn't work at all anymore. I saw him just a few years ago (or maybe it was 4 years or 5). He could have stopped working at the Stash immediately after that and only works elsewhere or something.

Also at the LA Stash they weren't hanging out and talking like they do on the show. But they were airing on the store TVs the unedited unrated version of 40 Year Old Virgin and then Predator.
I might be wrong but I think Walt was there too.

I really wanna do that Zombie run 5k, that looks pretty cool sort of like a fanboy's Tough Mudder lol

The stan lee episode was awesome, Stan must be awesome.

I kind of wish they would talk about current trends happening in comic books such as The New 52 and Marvel Now but then that's what internet forums are for I guess.

They need to do a show at a Comic Con or something.

Yea I've just been waiting for the moment when Walt looks at Mike and is all "So what are you thinking about this New 52 crap?" Mike would be all like "Some of it has been pretty good but most of it has just been stupid blah blah...." Then Ming chimes in "Awww come on, these characters are so old they need their origin stories retold for the newer generation! Plus, Justice League has been better than it has in years." Then Walt and Mike just sit there all wide eyed and flabbergasted before Walt just goes on some tirade lol. It works so perfectly in my mind lol

I think when they'll all together doing the podcast is more interesting that way they can actually talk about comics.
