Kevin Williamson's 'The Following'

Every time one of Joe's "followers" gets away with killing an innocent in some form or fashion, or Joey just gets taken further away, my heart sinks a little a bit further.* I verbally muttered, "Son of a b*tch!" to myself when those two guys got the drop on the S.W.A.T., disguised themselves as S.W.A.T. kill two more, and then the blonde cop shot Mike. Though, I kind of a figured from the beginning that the blonde cop was a follower. She seemed to be a little too interested in the entire.

*(I think that's why I did a little fist pump in the air at the end of last week's episode when Hardy shot and killed Hank. Justice was served!) :cmad:

If Emma and her two buddies ever finally get caught, the payoff to their demise better be damn worth it.
weak............

Thank you for your incredible insight. :o

By my count, there's now been about 10 cult members who we've have either seen or heard about. Plus, add in the lawyer who's being blackmailed into doing Carroll's bidding. I'd say that we're going to say bye to Paul since he was bleeding pretty good, but knowing how writers are, they'll find a way for Jacob to save him.

You have to be kidding me...I knew that cop girl was suspicious from the get go but I was hoping they would prove me wrong and not have another cop in on it. And the swat team was of course useless as majority of the cops/fbi on this show are.

The main thing that gets about this show is how impossible it would actually be to orchestrate all of this from a damn prison. When you are locked up every means of communication you have with the outside world is monitored. Mail isn't supposed to be but the guards do it anyway. Even those visits through the glass are monitored.

I can kind of forgive that since Carrol had super tech help plus help from at least one person actually working in the prison.

I was so certain Iceman was going to shoot blonde cop and we'd get a "hey rodrick" from Emma. If there's an FBI follower, it's got to be either him or cult expert lady.

I knew something was off with that cop. So it wasn't a shocker when she turned on Iceman. I'm still expecting Iceman to turn at some point.

I hope Joe's lawyer dies a slow death at some point. She can put hole in this whole thing if she spoke the **** up. His ex-wife can join her too. Your son called explaining how he's in a farm house and the FBI trace the call back to Albany County in New York. You buy the follower's BS all the way up to his hideout in an abandoned warehouse? Come on now lady. At some point you gotta realize it's all BS when you haven't left the city and you're turning into a back alley.

Hardy scaring the **** out of the two guys was the highlight of the episode for me. :word: Then Emma put on the big boy pants and showed those two how it's done. lol

This is what I was thinking so I well agree. Plus I do find it a stretch that you can compromise cops and swat teams like that. Don't they vet their members? I dunno... Still like the show though. :oldrazz:

Loved last night, everything from Ryan trolling the trio to Parker's backstory. And yeah, I knew something was up with the cop chick. She just looked crazy.

Hardy getting inside the trio's head was just so funny to watch play out and smart on his part to get an upper hand. With how much story run they gave that female cop, I sort of knew she end up playing a major role in the trio's escape. Just didn't expect the other two members who killed the SWAT members in the woods and the house, but when Charlie relayed to Emma that help was on the way, maybe it wasn't so surprising.

Correction: Mail IS opened. By law.

I used to be a Corrections Officer. (FYI "guards" are minimum wage people that work at malls. That word is usually a four-letter word within the CO ranks.)

With that being said, compromising even one officer within the walls can grant an inmate immense power and access. Part of what you do in there is trust everybody in your uniform, which is why even one compromised officer is such a blow.

I can share some crazy stories, not the least of which was a female officer we investigated and that we found naked on a porn site that was run and operated by an inmate from within prison. What's even crazier is, she was in varying states of undress from her uniform with the said inmate, IN the prison, whom apparently became her lover.

^Crazy!

I honestly didnt call the blond cop being a follower, I thought the chief seemed more likely because of his slight hesitation at surrounding the house, was very shocked when the blond cop shot Iceman.

Was genuinly gutted when Hardy didnt save Joe's son either, though we would finally see him re-united with his mother. Series is still going strong though.

I thought Emma flat out abandoning Paul and Jacob was pretty hilarious.

I can't believe the incompetent trios got out alive with the kid no less.

You would think they would have helicopters flying over the house and the surrounding area to cover more ground. :whatever:

Did like Ryan trolling those guys, classic. And at least poor Meghan got out of there ok.

Yea same here. I'm really digging it so far. I just wonder how long they can keep it good

Oh I know. I know it's opened and searched, I've even heard stories about people melting meth down to look like a stamp and mail it in. That said, I'm pretty sure by law they're not supposes to actually read any of the letters but I'm not sure. And yea, here where I'm from there's been plenty of scandals with the guards out at the county jail. People are always gonna be people no matter what side of the bars they're on.

The show is losing me, Hardy mind ****ing the three loonateers was fun but the rest was just ridiculous, Joe is too omnipotent and seems to not only have gullible weirdos on his jock but also a friggin IMF team lol.

I have a feeling that Joe might just be a figurehead. A powerful figurehead yeah, but I'm starting to think that the true power/organizer of the group lies with whoever "Roderick" is.

I don't think the rest of them just went to see Joe out of the blue. I think "Roderick" pushed them towards Joe.

I don't think Joe is the entire leader of this group either. Considering how many times that they had to wait for word from Roderick, I'd say he's running the whole thing from the outside while Carroll keeps the authorities attention.

You nailed it. I'm getting seriously sick of all this "almost got him...crap, they got away" stuff.

i knew something was funny with that blonde cop I knew it...kevin bacon..uhm why didnt you shoot out the damned tires on the suv before you started havin heart problems

He probably didn't trust himself to aim at that point, especially with the kid in the vehicle.

That would certainly gel thinks together better if he had a recruiter, but Joe has to remain the top guy as the main rivalry is Hardy vs Carol. I still think the type of people he now has doing his bidding is stretching it.
