Kevin Williamson's 'The Following'

i was couple episodes behind but now I'm almost up to date. i didnt expect everything to be 100% realistic but seriously some things are just laughable...it's entertaining but huge potential wasted in my opinion..

Yeah, I'm caught up, and while I'm still interested, that is starting to wane. While the show started off incredibly tense and did a great job of keeping me on my toes, it's begun to get repetitive.

And some of the plans that Joe has set up/been setting up are just getting a little too ridiculous. That's always a problem when you go for the "Villain so smart he's orchestrated everything even while caught" idea. And to a point I'll follow it. But after a while it just gets too ridiculous. I wish they had kept it at a more believable level, like in the first few episodes.

And I'm still having major doubts about this show being able to sustain two full seasons for TV.

As much as I've come to like this show it still drives me crazy. All I want to know is what Joe's motivation not only for the cult but for killing in general is.

It's not a surprise anymore with this show when someone who seems to have had a normal past shows up at the X-Mansion and has been a follower in hiding all along.

I'm sure people will ***** about Claire's decision, but lets be honest... people are dropping bodies right and left, Joe's followers are coming at her from every angle and she's no closer to getting her son back than she was X amount of weeks ago. I'd probably give myself up too. :o

That ending was random as hell, though.

so who the hell was that woman that came in to hug Carrol at the end?

I think it was the chick that Ryan was seeing in the flashbacks. That whole bit at the end was a big  for me.

It was her. I don't see what was so confusing. Obviously Joe had her get close to Ryan or some such ****

It just seems like the weirdest one so far. I mean, some random broad he probably had a fairly short-lived relationship with? Gay neighbors for Maggie Grace and a nanny for his kids, I get, but this?

I dunno man, I'm just along for the ride here. I'm not really investing too much thought in this show. This is just the appetizer until Hannibal starts next Thursday anyways.

I'm def. looking forward to Hannibal, but I'm loving this. I just wish they'd give Bacon and co. a ****ing win at some point.

He won last week man. When they caught that one crazy chick

That's not a win. That's, like... a bonus.

Well didn't Ryan's partner say he had to go in witness protection because of the Cult? Maybe at some point she nearly kills Ryan's partner, but gets away. He did say that Ryan saved his life twice.

I love this show. I like the psychological aspect to this show but I agree with the other posters that the absurdly detailed plot crafted by Joe is well...absurdly unbelievable. It's also hard to imagine Joe turning so many people onto his message and then strategically place them for this "story" he is writing.

I try not to think about the logistics of it and just enjoy the show.

Aren't those clementines? :oldrazz:

The whole "he's writing a story" is such bs. I refuse to believe that Joe is doing all of this just for revenge or to tell some narrative. Well, that may be his game here now but I still wanna know more about before he was caught. Why was he so obsessed with Poe? Why does he feel the urge to kill? And why Poe?? Why not Nietzche or some other 19th century literary figurehead? I want to know Joe's pathology, we know why Dexter is Dexter or why Hannibal Lecter is the way he is. I wanna know more about Joe gods damn it.

I think it was the chick that Ryan was seeing in the flashbacks. That whole bit at the end was a big  for me.
I think it was her, too. And yeah, WTF? It's really just getting out of hand. Joe would enver be able to do all these things and have that much control over everyone. :(

Yeah, this show is getting ridiculous. Joe is just too omnipotent.

If y'all came into the show knowing the general concept and still expected full realism, you have only yourselves to blame.

Plus it looks like joes omnipotence may be coming to an end with Roderick's inevitable betrayal.
