Kim Kardashian in....Tyler Perry's The Marriage Counselor

Oh lord. If Perry thinks casting Kim Kardashian will bring in more demographics than his usual black audience... fat chance. No one wants to see that talentless cow act.

She was horrendous in "Disaster Movie" -- and she needs way more than an acting coach.

Tyler Perry made $130 million last year, so he can cast whoever he wants to that isn't an A-List or B-List African American actor.

It'll probably be a small role anyways. As with most Tyler Perry movies, the rest of the cast will be filled with C and D-List Black Actors. That's actually a good thing because the A-List/B-List Crop of African American actors usually get roles in mainstream movies. He does cast B-List actors and actresses sometimes. The biggest name he's had in his movies has been Tajari P. Henson.

Although it would not hurt I would think for someone like Eddie Murphy to do a Tyler Perry film or two or three. Those films always do well in the Box office and Murphy is in dire need of a hit movie that doesn't have him voice a donkey.

But Kim K. is a talentless hack. They all are untalented.

Tyler Perry, the richest man in Hollywood today...can do no wrong in my book! :p

She barely seems human in her ****ing reality show. Kim in an actual acting role?

Miscarriage of cinema. :o

Well, I don't want it! :cmad:

Unless she's topless. :o

Don't be gross. :o

:awesome:

Why haven't the Kardasians been assassinated yet? Seriously.

Well I'm not so sanguine about the amount and kinds of roles that "A or B" List blacks are getting in the mainstream films. Some of them aren't either. I'm also not sure that we can apply lettered list status so easily for blacks due to how they are treated or regarded in white Hollywood.

For many black actors, for example, that should be "A" List or might be A-List in the black community, they are barely known or register in the mainstream (i.e. white folks), so they take roles where they can get them, and some might misinterpret that as them taking roles beneath them or whatever (however I think the TV stigma has declined quite a bit over the last decade or two).

Despite Perry's flaws as a writer and director I do have to credit him with providing opportunities for a wide range of black actors and some brown ones too.

I do agree that Kim K. isn't the most talented person, however Perry has already pulled a coup by casting her. It will get people talking about the film and might even bring her audience, or fans, in to see the film if they aren't TP fans already.

You forgot Viola Davis and Angela Bassett. Yes, that Viola Davis.

I would mention some of the actresses in Perry's For Colored Girls, but Whoopi hasn't been a big screen name in a while.

Didn't know Davis was in one of them.

A List are actors that mainstream wants to see in movies and are bankable box office draws. Most people know their names and faces. A List black actors include names like Denzel Washington, Will Smith, Samuel L. Jackson, Jamie Foxx, Morgan Freeman and (maybe although I'm not sure if she's there yet) Zoe Saldana.

B-List are recognizable names and faces, but not necessarily huge box office draws. Names like Don Cheadle, Forrest Whitaker, Terrance Howard, Rosario Dawson, Halle Berry and Lawrence Fishburne.

Also a fast riser in Anthony Mackie. And if there is ever a need for a comedy, Craig Robinson is the go to black actor for Mainstream comedies.

None of the actors above will ever do a Tyler Perry film, therefore paving the way for lesser known actors to appear in his films. That's good for all of the other Black Actors out there in Hollywood. The names above though are only a small minority.

I do think though that Tyler Perry could easily benefit someone like Eddie Murphy though. Wesley Snipes could also benefit from doing a Tyler Perry film or two.

That'd be nice, but it's not gonna happen.

Actually, scratch that. I don't really mind the movies at all. But his sitcoms annoy the **** out of me. Then again, so does everything else on TBS, so maybe it's not just him.

One of the actors on one of his TV shows is on the CW show The Secret Circle.

If anyone's seen the episode of Boondocks that parodys him that's exactly how I feel about him and want him to stop it.... just stop it!
