I see no problems with Tyler's Movies. I can do bad all by myself was actually my favorite one. He does have talent he's just lacking execution and he needs something fresh and using his formula

I admire Tyler for what he done in the movie industry. Completely isolated himself from Hollywood's standards and started his own reign of movies. His own niche, and he's not letting no one change who he is or what he does. Of course no one appreciates that because his movies usually contain themes of Religion and Black Comedy, 2 of the most disliked genres in movie making history.

I don't understand the hate towards him. Some just don't get his movies. I mean I could say the same thing about the Jackass serious. Bunch obnoxious idiots doing nasty, disgusting and ******ed stunts. And people call that comedy, they actually like that crap.

But I can't say anything, that's just a niche I'm not apart of it. If people like those type of movies then they just do.

And I think For Colored Girls is underrated. It was powerfully acted and beautifully presented in my opinion.

He has a great supporting fan base

Well, Davis, Henson and Bassett are as big as he's ever going to get for his movies, unless he casts Wesley Snipes or Eddie Murphy in a future movie (which would not be a bad idea).

I would mention some of the actresses in Perry's For Colored Girls, but Whoopi hasn't been a big screen name in a while.

Idris Elba deserved much better when he was in Daddy's Little Girls. The ending was really cringe-inducing, and the movie is really one of Perry's worst films. I wouldn't have any qualms with Perry's movies if more of them were... y'know... better written and more tonally consistent.

same here. i like elba a lot as an actor and i thought him and Union deserved a better movie. ill still watch it every now and then when it comes on tv but the ending is subpar for sure

I liked his first couple efforts, but Tyler has really missed the boat over the last few films imo. He has become such a vapid and cheesy Hallmark movie of the week film director.

Anyway, here are my feelings about Tyler Perry. I like the guy. He's a nice guy who's made it through some very difficult times in his life to not only become one of the most successful African Americans today, but one of the most successful entertainers today who is the envy of others, and a role model to African Americans who sorely needs positive role models in their lives.

With all of that said, his work sucks. His plays are okay, his movies are bad, and his tv shows are downright terrible. He relies too much on racial stereotypes, and still can't direct to save his life. For Colored Girls is a big example of that.
