King Richard | Warner Bros.

This looks really good.

Smith's dramatic work is best when Smith is allowed to at least let a little of his natural charm and charisma seep in like Pursuit of Happiness and not like the abysmally dour Seven Pounds. Smith looks like such a lovable dad in this.

Couldn't help but to tear up at this trailer.

I think this dude definitely deserves a biopic. What a legendary journey.

Loved this and it will definitely be in my top 10 of the year before its over. Will Smith is just fantastic in this and deserves some Oscar recognition for his performance although the girls were pretty fantastic too.

There wasn't a single weak performance in this and I've always had a soft spot for feel good movies like this, but I don't see how most people don't enjoy it even with lengthy running time.

Just caught this early today, and it was much better than I expected. Emotional and aspirational at the same time, I found myself quite invested in the story of Richard Williams and his struggles of raising his daughters to be successful tennis players. I’m not the biggest Smith fan, but he was certainly a standout and I’d be pretty bummed if he doesn’t get at least an Oscar nomination.

8/10.

Jon Bernthal was a nice surprise. He played so much against type and was really likeable. Smith will obviously get major nominations. The role feels akin to Pursuit of Happyness.

This was good, but I don't think it is Oscar worthy.
