The last trilogy ended right when the ape civilization was getting started. The trilogy was pretty much only a prologue. And the franchise has been ongoing for 50 years and is an icon in Fox's catalogue. So a person would have to be pretty dense to think there wouldnt be more Apes films.
And just because Reeve's trilogy was good doesnt mean he should be the last director to make an Apes film. Reeves got to tell his part of the story and now other director's will get to tell their own stories in the Apes universe. I wonder if this Brewton person also thinks Nolan's Batman trilogy should have been the last Batman films made?
Edit: I read his other comments and he sounds like a dingus.
