I found War to be pretty boring. I was expecting to see an actual war…instead I fell asleep in the theater.
I genuinely couldn’t disagree more if I tried.

That film should have been called The Great Ape Escape.
I feel like they have to pivot the tone from the previous trilogy somehow just for distinction sake.
My notion of what this should be is the same as it’s always been: a Heston-type of setting with Serkis-era technology, and Serkis now in the Dr. Zaius role rather than that of the hero.I feel like they have to pivot the tone from the previous trilogy somehow just for distinction sake.

They could have a movie set in the distant future where all the apes get infected by a virus that is spread by cats who have become intelligent while the apes lose theirs.

Cats and Planet of the Apes crossover? I like it, but Tom Hooper has to direct it to really capture the horror of it all. They could have a movie set in the distant future where all the apes get infected by a virus that is spread by cats who have become intelligent while the apes lose theirs.

Can it be a musical?![]()
The more important question is will Hooper finally be able to realize his dream and give us singing cats and apes with buttholes.
I didn't know Alan Ball was doing this. If that's the case this could be pretty great.

Nothing to fret over. Of all the YA junk that was pumped-and-dumped into theaters over the last decade, I thought the Maze Runner series was surprisingly decent especially under the Late Stage Fox reign. The new Disney overlords continuing to foster this remnant of the acquisition should instill some level of confidence. Just don't turn it into a six-episode limited series. Give me a proper film (I don't give a damn how you release it).
