Honestly, I hadn't kept up with this project so I was a bit shocked to see Cruise doing any comedy.


There was one bit with a gag about who shot who on the plane and another scene where Cruise was giving the countdown to Diaz to run out from behind a crate from gunfire and she just runs out and bullets start flying.

reminded me of Rush Hour.

I confess I enjoyed the Rush Hour movies so if it captures some of that tone it could be fun, but judging from some of the set vids the action seems to be going for a True Lies scale.

Cruise does have some good comedic chops obviously, from some of his past roles. Diaz's boyfriend is Marc Blucas I think and she's in a diner with him explaning the situation and then all of sudden Cruise pops up from out of nowhere and Blucas is like, "who is this?" And she says, "this is the guy." And Cruise is acting all naive and somewhat sheepish like, "yeah, yeah, i'm the guy, i'm that guy, you know...heh heh." Basically like he's being introduced as a boyfriend or something.
