but he was not just on drugs. he didnt just drink and killed someone in hes car.

he belives in the alien Xenu. fact is that Cruise is crazy. he is nuts. he just choose after 2005 to hide it. :hehe:

I'm not defending his beliefs cause they are out there, but those are his personal beliefs. I don't understand why some can't seperate his personal life from his acting career. I mean really when christians first started coming out in the open and the religion started forming they were viewed as rebels, disenters, and loons. Are we to act the same way today. I don't really see the difference in believing in an alien and a god. Its just semantics. The first image for god was a star. So aliens and gods are not entirely seperate its just that back then the ideas of ufo's and science were viewed as magic and gods. They didn't know anything about science. Also, aliens and gods are an idea of man not of a greater being so our view of what they might be if they exist is skewed and wrong to begin with.

Its sad people refuse to go see his films do to their own issues with his personal beliefs. He is a good actor, and has put out some good films.

Yeah but I know people who will no longer watch Mel Gibson movies because of his beliefs as well.

There will always be some one to judge I suppose.

Saw this movie last night (as an unfortunate consequence of the projector in my Inception theater malfunctioning, so we were allowed to walk into another movie). Have to say it was actually really entertaining - between the action & over-the-top stunts, Cruise & Diaz's chemistry, humor, etc, it was overall a fun flick. Ok maybe I lost a little respect for James Mangold (coming after 3:10 to Yuma and Walk The Line) who I think could've picked a better movie to direct. :p

I think the part I liked best about this movie was Cruise & Diaz's chemistry, they were actually really good together and definitely sold every scene they were in. And not that I'm really a fan of Diaz but man, you almost can't help but like her in almost every movie she does with her megawatt smile, brilliant blue eyes, and generally ditzy but easygoing personality. I can't pin down exactly what it is about her but she's awesome. By the end of the movie I almost thought I was in love. :awesome:

One of the funny parts I remember is after Diaz's character gets injected with a truth-telling drug and she's following Cruise hunt down the bad guys and randomly says "I feel like having sex right now!"

The movie didn't really explain why it's called "Knight and Day" though - the "and Day" part specifically. Just sort of a nitpick there. I think they could've come up with a better title.

Oh and is it possible for Peter Sarsgaard to play nice guys btw? Seems like every movie I see him in, he's either some sort of bad guy or creepy. I mean he does the bad/creepy guys really well but does he have any range apart from that?

I felt the film suffered from the same issue that was my biggest problem with Clash of the Titans....it was too easy for the main character...there was never really any sense of danger or that the main character was in a struggle. It was all soo easy.

This is a run of the mill action-comedy, but it had some entertaining bits that make me give it a 3/5.

Best part was when they got captured and as Diaz was coming in and out of the drug, they were all of a sudden in different and more insane places (like a plane, then a boat, LOL!).

i wish they showed that scene in it's entirely!

This was a blind buy for me. I was expecting a great film, it was just okay.

'Knight And Day' Is Fox's 2010 Top Grosser
By MIKE FLEMING | Friday December 10, 2010 @ 8:20pm EST

Even though the 20th Century Fox film Knight and Day's soft domestic opening left Hollywood and the media second-guessing everything from the title and marketing campaign to the viability of its stars Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz, the film has slowly established itself to become Fox's biggest 2010 release with $262.3 million worldwide gross.

The film's $76.4 million domestic gross was considered low for a summer Cruise action vehicle. But the pic rallied overseas with $185.9 million in foreign grosses. While Fox's Date Night and The A-Team did more domestic business, Knight and Day's overseas gross placed it ahead of those films and demonstrates the value stars still have overseas. Of course, the studio's biggest movie revenue source for 2010 was Avatar, but that film was released in 2009 as was Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel.

The offshore gross of Knight and Day did not help the film's perception because most of its overseas business came late in the summer and during the fall. That's because studios bypassed the World Cup, when nobody outside the US seems interested in going to the movies.

That bolsters the case for Cruise, who is once again in demand on his next vehicle after Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol. Among the films he's being courted for are New Line's Rock of Ages musical, and At the Mountains of Madness, the HP Lovecraft adaptation that will be directed by Guillermo del Toro and produced by James Cameron. That 3D project is based at Universal, but the studio has yet to sign off on the budget.

That’s fantastic news because its easily in my top ten this year, it was so enjoyable and Cruise was a suave badass in it. Glad to know it did good business and glad to hear Cruise has decent projects lined up.

It's funny how everyone doubting Tom Cruise after the initial box office weekend, then low and behold by the end of the year, it is Fox's top earner. Interesting.

But that's not saying much, to be frank.

not bashing the movie in anyway, but Fox (not including Searchlight) didn't have a strong year.

Tom Cruise's box office draw overseas has never been in question as he's still huge. Unfortunately, it's his box office domestically that's been waning. This film should've easily crossed 100 M domestically but didn't.

I think that was part of the movie that was good that there wasn't this life/death struggles all the time. It was more about 'action/fun' and it had that playfullness to the movie.
I also agree Cruise/Diaz had a good onscreen chemistry that made the film more enjoyable. Overall,it was a decent movie and enjoy it as what it was a fun-movie.

I did not like this movie at all. Just a terrible story, terrible pacing in terms of comedy and seriousness. Cameron diaz has never been so annoying and stupid as a character. I couldnt even finish the movie, I quit and stopped watching at the part towards the end where she let herself be captured and they were I guess about to have the big chase I saw in the previews. Tom cruise was good though. Just poorly executed and I still couldnt tell you what the story was because it was completely uninteresting and I almost lost it when we kept having to watch her black out.

I expected to just have fun with this film despite the lukewarm response but I didnt really have that.

THe action ws meh, Diaz was annoying, the story was bad, wasnt funny after first 30 mins, bad romance, characters were bad and pointless

5/10

I couldnt stand diaz, she did the opposite of everything he told her too do in the movie. I was hoping at some point she would have got shot in the head. cruise was funny but alot of the humor didnt hit right and seemed like the timing was off.

I liked this movie... it become too mundane and predictable towards the end, but there were some really fun moments, and the two leads are likable enough :)
