Knight Rider 2008: The Thread

arguably...this show is horrible...but i think its turning into a guilty pleasure. I dare not tell my friends though... :D

awesome episode, I don't believe they had Billy dressing up as Capt.Jack, I almost had a geekasm & Zoe dressing up as a Wildcats cheerleader (High School The Musical) satisfied my friend.

I don't know why people are so harsh on it, in a time where every tv show has to be serious & add drama even the sci-fi shows Knight Rider is refreshing being a super ridiculous cheesy show but that's why I love it.

Its the same for me, yeah I know its outrageous and kitt can do almost anything but its nice to shut your brain off and just enjoy a show!

Major rehaul for the series
NBC to Reboot Knight Rider

NBC will completely overhaul its Knight Rider continuation.

The show, recently granted a season order by NBC, will drop three of its cast regulars - Sydney Tamiia Poitier, Yancey Arias and Bruce Davison - and draw more parallels with its '80s predecessor.

Showrunner Gary Scott Thompson told The Hollywood Reporter: "It's a reboot. We're moving away from the terrorist-of-the-week formula and closer to the original, making it a show about a man and his car going out and helping more regular people, everymen."

The rejigged Knight Rider will debut as a two-parter in January, with the first part slated to air after a Sunday night NFL match and the second on the following Wednesday.

The show will not add any new cast regulars, instead focusing on the characters of Mike (Justin Bruening), Sarah (Deanna Russo), Billy (Paul Campbell), Zoe (Smith Cho) and KITT.

They are keeping Billy and the Hot Asian...nice...does this mean they are moving out of that concrete hanger/bunker thing.....??

They should have at least kept the best actor in Bruce Davison, who could have been the next Devon. They seem to be keeping the worst actors only because of their youth and good looks; not unusual, but still disappointing.

There are still too many characters. It should have been only Bruce, Justin Bruening as Michael Knight, Smith Cho as Zoe, and KITT. But I'm glad they're going to at least try to make more it like the original.

Wow, they're keeping the two annoying techs. That's two strikes against the new formula right there. :(

maybe they keep Davison around for guest starring every few episodes....
Hope so. Part of what made the original so great was the sage-like presence of Devon. Davison has that quality that would work with that crew.

hopefully, one of them will be phased out entirely by season's end *cough*Billy*cough*

Billy got a raw deal in BSG...first Duella dumps him for Apollo and then he gets shot....

I can take this show seriously enough to disdain it....my mom watches this for Chrissakes...it's a fun no brain show....

Eh, annoying characters are annoying characters to me. The spunky Asian stereotype isn't much better, although she does get points for being cute.

Will they stay with the plane as the mobile base or go back to the truck idea?

Pluse his hair is so magical! :woot:

Really? I could tolerate Billy, it's Zoe that gets on my ever-lovin' nerds. I like a hot Asian chick as much as the next guy, but the show so blatantly portrays her as "the hot Asian chick" that I can't bring myself to enjoy her. They lay it on so thick for cryin' out loud.

I'd have been happy if they had kept Yancy Arias. I agree with those who found Sydney Poitier somewhat irrelevant.

Basically, the kids are free to play while the parents are away. The maturity levels of all the remaining cast members are questionable with the exception of Sarah (and KITT). Maybe they'll have some faceless leader from the Foundation that they'll answer to from now on. Who knows.

The truck idea was always ridiculous. The plane idea is less ridiculous, but they still always gotta find a runway for KITT to land on.

I'd stay stick with the KITT Cave. It's a new car, and it should be doing special things, like driving really fast and use new tech to dodge law enforcement.

Haseelhoff!!!!! I know he swore against this series but he is enough of an NBC ****e to recant

Isn't Sarah supposed to be a super-genius? I wonder why they even need the techs when they could further smush the cast down to just Mike, KITT, and her.

Sarah is a quasi-super genius....she's probably smarther than Dr. Venture, but not as smart as say Tony Stark or Reed Richards

we've gotten too used to shows with big ensembles (even if there's a clear series lead) for it to just be Michael and KITT on the road all the time.

but it seems they're going back to that formula. Bring on the corrupt sheriffs and single moms with one kid :D

I wonder if they'll add the voiceover now. You know the "Knight Rider.....a shadowy flight into the dangerous world of a man....."
