L.A. Noire (PS3, 360)

Gameinformer has put up online their preview of the game that originally was included at their issue in March and is a great read. I'm impressed by the achievements Team Bondi did for this game, from the fact that the game has a 2,000-page script wow and gaining an instant 3D model when filming the actors instead of using the traditional facial capture method of bone-marking.

Just saw the trailer. ****ing pumped. An open world detective game...so full of win. Love the dark feel to it. The game does look amazing.

It's from the ending to Batman: Mask of the Phantasm where the screen pans up to Bats on a rooftop with his eyes closed. Then he opens them just before the signal is being lit. Classic.

Looking beautiful. I'm hoping that getting the wrong suspect doesn't result in simply trying again. It would be interesting to see the bad guys walk because you flubbed a case. Except, of course, in story important cases here you need to nail the right one.

Yea I'm hoping it actually takes some skill to interrogate and get information from suspects. There needs to be a steep penalty for messing up in that situation

Whoa, great stuff. The technology behind the scenes and the mo-caps Team Bondi is just astounding. I don't think I can't get more excited for the game then this.

The heads look SO good, that they look fake now. Like someone placed a real head on a fake body.

Well yeah the graphics ain't that nice since they don't use a engine that's well known (I think they created their own, not sure) but it's at least acceptable.

Just saw the new videos, this is shaping up brilliantly. I loved the period setting and the facial animation is outstanding, hopefully we see more and learn more about the game play soon.

I really hope the success of this game shoots a huge bundle of dough into the Australian Games industry. It's virtually non-existent, and there could be so much voice acting/writing work for local Australian talent. It'd be kinda ironic too that if this game goes gang busters, the aus game industry will have earnt more than the Aus film industry in that year.

And that is a real shame. There are some excellent films being made in Australia right now. This game will make a ton of money. Just the Rockstar name being attached to it and being multi-plat will see to that.
