He's attempting to save Winona Ryder from the evil Nosferatu people, who, for some reason think it's a better idea to go on a genocide spree than you know, try to stop a supernova from destroying Romulus. It's Spocks fault. He invented Super Nova's and other naturally occurring phenomenon that take millions of years to develope and are easily spotted.
