That said, with what a great writer Jonathan Nolan is, it wouldn't surprise me if, script-wise, it was larger and more complex than BB ever was.

according to Devin at CHUD, Jon did some rewriting on the BB script. I know he said he was a consultant himself, so who knows.

No offense Woj, but when has Devin been a reliable source on anything?

Depends on what you mean by "larger", I think.
The scope will (probably) be much smaller, and much mored focused on Gotham and Gotham alone.

perfeKt !

means we get see a lot more of the city that Bruce feels compelled to protect. Let's learn and discover what hides in the nooks and crannies of Gotham City.

please let's also see some development of Bruce's detective skills...

Quick question... how did Nolan come about picking Goyer to do Batman Begins? Did he really like Blade I and II? Did someone tell Nolan that he was the go to comic book guy in the biz? It's just kinda random.

Yet the final shooting script for BB was very similar to Goyer's original leaked draft. Jonathan's input obviously wasn't very significant.

depends what exactly a consultant meant. maybe when Goyer wasn't available Nolan ran ideas by Jon. I feel that, in Jon's hands, the film will be less in the mold of a superhero save the city film and more of a detective thriller. at least that's what I hope. things don't have to blow up or be over the top to work in a superhero movie.

I really do hope you're right.

You're right, and it's nice to think that the movie may go more in that direction. But of course, in order to please the studio paying for all of this, I have no doubt that things will have to blow and that asses will have to be kicked.

However, that doesn't have to mean that the movie isn't, over all, a potboiler. And to me that's really the ideal Batman movie anyway. I want the potboiler detective thriller movie. I also want stuff to blow up. :D

I think it's a bit soon. Earliest I'm hoping for is tomorrow (Monday). Failing that, let's assume sometime between Monday and Wednesday...

Grrrrr this is sooo annoying. I want it now :csad: Wish they would have just said a day rather than have us guessing.

what previous work has jon put out there? trying to get an idea of his style over here, and I feel a trip to the video store coming on

but spiderman inflated as around 450 million. Batman can do those numbers I do not see THAT much with nolan. his back to the basics phelosiphy makes good movies, but to do that well, you need style. For example, had say, Johnny Depp been cast as Batman, Jim Carrey as The Joker, and Cameron Diaz as Rachel dawes, than batman could do 400 million. But with Nolan it wont, itll high 200's/low 300's.

Bull. Stars don't mean anything. All they bring to the table is a bloated salary, an overblown ego and baggage. Spider-man had NO big names in it, and I'd wager that's one of the big pluses that drove it to such a high box office take. Toby WAS Spider-man. We didn't have 50 films worth of baggage to lug with us to the film. He wasn't a household name. Same with Dunst. She IS and always will be Mary Jane.

The same is true about Bale. Sure he's been in a lot of low budget movies before Batman Begins, but most movie goers are not going to associate him as Patrick Bateman.

eh i wouldnt get your hopes up

Well im not patient like the rest of u so *sticks tongue out* :cwink:

Also Kirsten Dunst wasn't a big name before Spiderman? Uhh.....no, Bring it on was HUGE and put her right on the map.

this talk was all the rage in 05. the nextbatman novie to have a shot at 350-400 million will be batman 3 in 2011

How accurate was LR's script review with BB?

Im asking because I didnt bother going online for BB.

Im asking because I didnt bother going online for BB.

What do you mean accurate?

They read the script, posted a few excerpts of it, and gave their overall impressions of the script. They gave it a positive review, they liked it, and gave sort of an overview. They were very clear, as I recall, about the fact that Batman didn't appear until a good ways into the film, that Bruce Wayne was built up as a character that you'd be invested in and follow him through the film.

Basically, they said exactly what was there, and then gave their opinion of it, which was positive.

Which is a review, in a nutshell...

they had the leaked script we all got to see. they summarized act 1. some text from the tumbler scene (with lucious and bruce) and the batman/faden scene that wasn't in the movie. it's should still be in their script archive. basically, we should get a good idea of what's to happen without any major spoilage. or so I hope.
