If they continue with Keen I think you've got the foundations for a really unique film series. Seeing someone grow up to be a superhero is kinda cool, the closest we've gotten is Hit Girl and the MCU Spider Man.

I can almost see them treating Laura like a Miyazaki heroine. If Wonder Woman was a Disney Princess movie, then Laura could be like a Ghibli movie in a way.

Fox's schedule is kinda full at the moment so I doubt that they'll rush this film.

Mangold took 4 years between The Wolverine and Logan, so that could give us an idea

My impression was Mangold's (and now Kyle's) whole reason for writing and exploring the character further, was in part because of the impact Dafne Keen brought to the character at such a young age.
I'm guessing it's specifically through her that they want to take the character further, and see her grow.
Not replace her with someone new.

Hopefully this is true and they do stick with Dafne Keen.

Yeah, Kyle seems really enamored with the idea of specifically exploring Dafne's Laura. Doubt he'd do this project if he couldn't keep her around. Or Jim for that matter.

I also like how he said her taking on the mantle of Wolverine (like in the current comics) would be a nightmare for him. He wants Laura to be Laura, not Wolverine.

Yes. They did a better job with her than they ever did with Jackman's Wolverine and I very much welcome the idea.

Not really, as it could deepen the angst and anger Darken feels towards Logan that he never met him.
