The Dark Knight Ledger on the Joker -- Again! BOF

Yeah, he used it in another interview too. I just wish some reporter would just have the balls to straight up ask whether Joker will have the green hair, white skin, and red lips. How hard is it to do that? You'd think it'd be the first thing asked..

It's probably part of the NDA he has. People have asked time and time again about Venom, and most of the time all we get is a "you [comic fans] won't be dissappointed with how he looks".

Now, granted, theres dozens of different Venom looks, just like theres hundreds of different Jokers, depending on the era and story and artist.

He's right about Jack Nicholson's performance being catered to Tim Burton...

I'm not liking this attitude at all, I'm damn near close to telling him to ****

This old news. Has been mentioned in other threads.

yeah . . . I'm all about Ledger, but he was pretty cocky about his ways . . . and this is a longshot, but consider this: maybe he's being cocky on purpose . . . like, maybe he's starting to get into character and wants us to start disliking him . . . . the more we hate him, the more we hate the Joker

Jack Nicholson's performance as Joker in Batman '89 is cinematic history as far as I'm concerned . . . . I believe he delivered exactly what he was intended to . . . . namely, Burton's vision of the character

damn I'm smart :D

well tim Burton did direct the film, what would you expect? I suppose Ledger will go and do his own thing with joker, reguardless of what Nolan wants? :whatever:

Not true . . . Nolan is the director . . . . he probably would like to ummmmm, 'direct' Ledger's performance at least a little bit

Wow, sarcasm bypass?

I was just making the point that it goes without saying that an actor would cater to the directors wishes, it's not exactly insightful for ledger to spot that

What if Nolan's Joker DOES wear a mask?

since nolan said before that he'll draw inspiration from "The Killing Joke", they'll probably will put the Red Hood, but not as a big storyline thingy. i'm guessing that TDK will have a long flashback scene where in the events of BB, joker used to be the Red Hood working for Carmine Falcone or one of the inmates working for Scarecrow or Ra's, and he accidently fell into a vat of chemicals because batman or the police cornered him.

so maybe thats what ledger meant by mask

Ledger on The Joker -- Again!
Author: Jett
Wednesday, September 13, 2006 - 12:34 PM: After being silent for about a month since word broke that he’d been cast as The Joker in THE DARK KNIGHT, Heath Ledger has talked quite a bit about nabbing the part here of late. Here’s the latest from MSN.COM:
It's Ledger's next role as Batman's nemesis The Joker in Chris Nolan's "The Dark Knight" that has fanboys' tongues wagging. Ledger says he hasn't paid attention to the scuttlebutt on the Web about his casting and wasn't that surprised to get the offer from Nolan.
"When he explained to me the angle he wanted to take, I was like, 'Yeah, I could do that,'" Ledger says. "[Nolan's] going to make it a lot more sinister, and we've got a little plan for him, but it's exciting. Any opportunity to don a mask is always exciting to me."
[BATMAN (1989)] was dominated by Jack Nicholson's acclaimed performance as the psychotic villain, but Ledger isn't intimidated by his predecessor's turn.
"I love, love, love what Nicholson did," Ledger says. "[But] his performance was catering to the style of directing the movie was made under. It was a Tim Burton film. It wasn't Chris Nolan."

Got a little plan for him eh? Can't wait to see what it is... A reminder, only Bat-Movie news will be featured on this page. Make sure to check out and bookmark the following link for all other BATMAN NEWS.

Yeah and Tim did a great job, better than nolan. Jack played the Joker as the Joker is, I don't care what Nolan and Heath think he is when they don't get it.
