Has this show gone too far? First I thought I might just call this thread, "Has Gotham gone too far?" but I guess it's just some of the little things, but I think the biggest problem of all is where the writers taken Lee Thompkins.

Since season 3, the relationship between Lee and Gordon took a huge turning point. I wish it hadn't become that dark and miserable. I wish somehow Lee would have figured out the truth sooner or later why Gordon had to pull the trigger on Mario.

But since 4x17...wow, Lee and Riddler? Nygma killed Kristen Kringle and Lee is now hooking up with him? Sure, she has been trying to redeem Edward this season, but she doesn't even know that Edward killed Kringle by an accident.

Lee was one of my favorite characters, and I thought she and Gordon were perfect for each other, but why did they have to go all Breaking Bad-season 5 on Gotham suddenly? It's so bad now. I mean I still enjoy the series, but dislike the route they've taken on Lee and Gordon.

I enjoyed Riddler and Penguin's friendship last season, but I kind of wish the writers didn't end the friendship so soon, because that was one of my favorite things about the show. I wanted to see the two stay good friends for a while...but then they tore them apart, and now they're friends again. I just don't like that at all. They're friends again despite all Penguin had done, all is forgiven, by killing Nygma's girlfriend. That's not something you forgive.

Then earlier this season, Bruce put on a cowl and started fighting crime. I feel like he could have been Batman by this point. He is 16 or so now and I don't want him to become Batman by the time he's 18. I want them to slow it down a pace. But I guess the decision to have Bruce put on a suit and fight crime this season grew on me. He did quit and he is finding another way. Point is, I just don't want to see him become Batman already. I think they've been rushing it since season 3. He's already a master at martial arts. Aside from all of this, I like how Gotham has developed these characters so far and I think the writers have done a particularly good job with each character...except for Lee and Barbara.

I hope at this point, they resolve the Lee issue. How Lee and Gordon can get back together though after the Mario incident seems impossible, but that's where they effed up.
