Left 4 Dead

inevitable?

Yea, inevitable. The game sets its self up perfectly for DLC as none of the stories really tie together, so I'm sure its not an if, but a when as to DLC.

As for daytime levels, yea it'd be a change of pace, but darkness is much more frighting than daylight, plus there is a heavy emphasis on light and lack thereof in this game(which is why use of a flashlight is so imperative.)

I said there is no daylight level, but the final level, appears to take place right before dawn, or dusk not sure which. I mean you can kind of see a little bit of the sun lighting up the sky, an overcast sky but still...

im not looking to get scared lol

besides most of RE4 is in daylight

Eh, i wouldn't say most. The first act is, and look what happens at night, the Las Plagas get alot creepier, as in they explode out of their hosts head and try to decapitate you. Nasty stuff there man.

They could do a daytime level where you're mostly indoors. Like that one where you have to go through the sewers for a bit. Still dark down there, but once you get out into the light and actually see the zombie hordes you're up against clearly, it could be a crap-in-the-pants moment.

Oh yea deff, maybe have a level like the mod thats coming out for the PC, the Dawn of the Dead mod.

Yeah, I gotta start looking into user-made campaigns. Valve's games tend to have some of the best user-generated content, bar none.

Been messing around with hammer for most of the week it's interesting some of the stuff you can do with the ai, this kids tutorial showed you can get enemy AI protect you, freindly AI to attack you, enemy AI to attack enemy AI, friendly Ai to attack freindly AI and so on... This is the kind of thing they must have used for the ant-lion hoarding parts and the games opening sequence, it will be cool to see if gets applied to Left4Dead's AI. Run around with a little zombie army or a battle royal between them or whatever...

Computer-controlled survivors could be cool. Instead of only rescuing survivors if they happen to die, you could rescue AI survivors at all of the standard survivor rescue points and have a kick-ass survivor army. The HL2 resistance guys look survivorish, or people could make new models. I'm sure we'll have the standard Darth Vaders and Niko Bellics in L4D pretty soon, if they're not around already.

Send me a request, let me know you're from the hype.
LOVE LOVE LOOOVE this game.

I wasn't all that into it until I actually played it and holy hell, is it fun.

The amount of stuff you can do in hammer is quite remarkable problem is, alot of it is heavily scripted with pre-set triggers. Walk to spot X set's of sequences A which triggers off sequences B which causes sequence C to break/explode and so on and so on...

Left4dead AI Director is more sporadic, although if you could set them to simply follow/freind and act of there own accord but the AI in left4dead's bots are alot better than halflife 2's default teamate AI. The "func_breakable" is really underused in left4dead, it only seems to apply to doors and one or two other misc objects, if you wanted to you could probably have then tear down an entire building bit by bit wall by wall by just selecting the entire building and setting it as "func_breakible" with the appropriate material selection, like a wooden shed or something.

The DLC's gonna be free for PC, right? I mean, of all the companies I'd expect free DLC from, Valve is pretty much at the top.

I'm not really a zombie fan myself, but I do love the game especially playing with others online.

so its a good multiplayer im guessing? i'll try the demo first.

If it isn't, I think I'll probably just blow it off and wait for the mod community to come up with their own new content. You can always count on PC modders to put out tons of interesting, if not necessarily great, stuff.
