Sci-Fi Leonardo DiCaprio enters "The Twilight Zone"

I love Nolan, but my vote goes to Cuaron for this one.

I'd rather see Nolan doing his own thing anyway (which looks to be the Howard Hughes pic right now). I'm surprised JJ Abrams isn't on this list, tbh. He worships the Twilight Zone, and it's pretty much the basis for everything he's ever done. Especially Felicity. ;)

You unlock this door with the key of testosterone.
Beyond it, is another dimension.
A dimension of heavy SOUND, a dimension of hot girl SIGHT, a dimension of MINDless scenarios.
You're moving into a land of both big explosions and cars chases and recycled ideas you just crossed over into...

The Twilight Zone KABBOMMMMBLAMMMMMWHAMMYSPLOSION!

A Michael Bay film(Twilight Zone theme as a guitar riff with Linkin Park singing over it)

Fixed.

I just knew that WB will go with someone that's not in the wish list.

Anyway WB has pick Matt Reeves as their choice to direct the movie.

Let Me In and Cloverfield director Matt Reeves has been chosen by Warner Bros to direct The Twilight Zone, the Jason Rothenberg-scripted thriller based on the classic Rod Serling TV series. Negotiations will get underway early next week, but this is an assignment that was coveted by a number of top directors.

The hope is to sign to sign Reeves quickly, continue to work on the script and get the picture into production by next summer.

He's an interesting choice, I can live with this.

At least it isn't Bay. :o

Honestly I doubt they'd could get the directors from the wish list anyway. The closest would probably be Wyatt since he has no other project lining up after Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Yeah Cuaron and Nolan has good relationships with the studio but they'd usually go with the project they have in mind and more interested in rather than tackling a project the studio would offer them. In the end the wish list is just a wish list.

Matt Reeves could work.

But it would be way more awesome if they did another anthology and had each director from the wish list do a segment. Imagine something like Christopher Nolan's The Monsters Are Due on Mapple Street or Alfonso Cuarón's Eye of the Beholder.

I'm very much satisfied with Matt Reeves.

Great choice. Cloverfield was good, Let Me In was great. Wished he had gotten the Superman gig, tbh.

Glad Reeves is still getting work. I was worried with how "Let Me In" underperformed, that he wouldn't be able to get another shot at bigger films.

Still wished we got that multi-director anthology series, however. That would be something relatively new in Hollywood.

Awesome news! Can't wait to see what Reeves does with this.

He's got a few things on his plate actually. But you're right in that none of them are the "big budget" things.

Good choice. It being one big film is interesting. Though I do wish they went with the varied ideas.

Yeah, I'd love for them going with it being an anthology again just to see the directors they can get but that approach usually don't work well on the audience of today and it's been done before.

Nonetheless this is interesting too since they're going to do an original story that'll evoke the mood of the classic series rather than adapting and flesh out the story from one episode. On one hand it's nice we're going to get something fresh but on the other hand it's going to be tricky if it'll have Serling feel to the story. We'll see how it'll goes but I'm hoping for the best anyway.

Is the script out there already?

It's been a year since they hired the new writer to work on the script but as far as I know, it hasn't been leaked.

Ah, thanks! I'll be on the lookout as well.
