Sci-Fi Leonardo DiCaprio enters "The Twilight Zone"

Nothing new on this, huh?

I rather they have a few directors do short segments in the film. Can do a 2 hour film with a few stories similar to Tales From The Crypt film.

If this has nothing new then why did you guys bring it back up?

Got my hopes up for nothing.

Because you deserve to get your hopes up. :o

Guillermo Del Toro
Duncan Jones
Darren Aronofsky
M. Night Shyamalan
David Fincher
Frank Darabont
Christopher Nolan
Rian Johnson
J.J. Abrams
Richard Kelly

I feel like all of these guys would be like kids in a candy store with this franchise. :woot:

I'd like to see Shyamalan get his hands all over this.

"The Twilight Zone (based on the venerated Rod Serling sci-fi TV series that also sparked a 1983 film), that until recently was to be directed Matt Reeves (Cloverfield). It follows a test pilot who winds up breaking the speed of light; when he puts down his craft, he discovers that he’s landed a bit late for supper — 96 years late"

Not sure how true but that's something

By the way who do you guys want as the narrator: I think Jon Hamm or Nestor Carbonell would be good

So this film's not going to be an anthology? That's a huge shame, IMO.
I was sort of looking forward to a Sci-fi take on 'Trick r Treat'.

But yeah, Blackman, Jon Hamm would be a great Twilight Zone narrator.

Why? The show wasn't.

EDIT: In the sense that every episode was one story. This is meant to be a franchise.

I think 90 minutes is too long for one TZ story. I like how the original episodes were just vignettes and didn't go into as much depth as a feature film would.

TV shows and movies are different.
An anthology tv series can obviously afford to do a different story every week, a movie based on an anthology tv series, whether it's meant to be a franchise or not, kind of can't.
A show has years to put across to the viewer what it's all about. A movie, this movie, has 90 minutes.
Without the anthology element, even with the TZ brand and theme tune, this movie's just going to be 'Time Travel Flick #10,200,301'

I'm not feeling it. I'd rather TZ come back to television, with some actual real deal writers handling it. I'd love more anthology TV.

Same here, man. Just imagine how glorious a new TZ series would be if they really went to town on the writing talent. e.g. Neil Gaiman, Bryan Fuller, Ronald D. Moore, Stephen King, etc.

I'd watch the crap out of that.

It depends on the stories and how they're treated. There are a lot of eps that were stolen to make movies anyway.

I would love to see a 90 min version of The Howling Man or The Silence. Even Mr Denton on Doomsday could be cool.

I really wish they would think outside the box on this and get 12 directors to make 12 movies. Then release 1 a month.

IMO the theme and the opening should not be touched and everyone involved needs to bring up Serling over and over again.

I am on the verge of buying the definitive collection...I was a kid back in the early 2000 when in class we saw some of these black and white episodes...The only black and white stuff i enjoyed and kept my mind engaged. I loved it

The definitive DVDs are worth every penny. They packed some great stuff on there.
I still can't imagine a TZ movie with jus one story. Granted, I'm not a fan of the '80s film, but at least it kept the anthology idea. This, as Wesley Dodds pointed out, is just another time travel movie.

I'd be cool if they did separate stories but were connected somehow.

Just saw "One for the Angels"
Damn it I love this episode so much...I decided to buy the collection on Ebay. Going like hotcakes right now

Time travel and these twist plots are what drew me to dramatic cinema...You can see how many film makers were inspired by Rod Serling's work
