I took a quick look at WarGames today and I read the part about Leslie letting Robin/Spoiler die!!!

Oh that just ticks me off.

They really screwed up alot in the Batman comics for the last few years, but this takes the cake. Leslie would never do that!!!

They ruined a great character. I'll just pretend that and the whole Jason Todd thing didn't happen.

Please stop talking about things that happened 2 years ago. I mean, I know you've just discovered things like Justice and War Games, but for the people - most people - who've already read them, it's like reading a thread about how awesome Michael Jackson's new album Thriller is.

holy delayed reaction, batman!!

but yeah, that pissed me off too....because someone writing leslie to do that is a sheer display of ignorance. it was so ungodly out of character, its almost offensive to fans to think we should buy into such B.S. writing like that. the writer and editors should be embarassed and ashamed.

I was hoping they'd retcon this in the Crisis, but I don't think they did. :csad:

That's not fair, CConn. People make threads about old stuff all the time. Since when is it a rule that we can only discuss the latest news?? It's not doing anyone any harm, and it's a valid topic.

If you don't like it, then just keep away from the thread.

Did you see? The Joker killed Jason Todd. Poor boy. Will we see a new Robin soon?

I wasn't being entirely serious, Doc. And I'm not the only one who's commented on it, if you've noticed.

She'll show up in All Star to teach Black Canary to be a real woman.
Leslie: Real women go for older gentlemen.

Leslie: *blows Christopher Columbus*

Ok. Well, apologies for that. It's hard to pick up sarcasm sometimes on the net. Especially without the use of smilies.

And I'm not the only one who's commented on it, if you've noticed.

I did. But, Motown Marvel just made a little joking remark on it, and then put his opinion across on the topic. At least he made a contribution to the discussion.

Anyway, I don't want to stray the thread off topic over a silly misunderstanding. I'm just saying it's not a bad thing for someone who might have been out of the loop with the comics to come along and discuss something that's only a couple of years old.

Peace :)

The only reason I'm talking about something old is, as I've said, I'm catching up on some stuff after being away for awhile, and we can talk about old stuff too. Anyway, new to me, very horrible, revamp it, it does not exist!!!:cmad:

yeah i don't think it will stay canon. no way.

that said i hope it's just conveniently forgotten instead of making up some crap excuse like a Leslie clone or brainwashing etc. just say Stephanie died of her injuries, which is still lame because only one Robin should be dead, but still it's better than implicating the good doctor.

or, how would people feel if it was suddenly revealed that Spoiler didn't in fact die at all? could you accept such extreme retconning. how would you do it?

Enough with the retconning already.

The Leslie thing with one of the dumbest things to ever happen in comic book history. It's f**king shameful. Jason Todd coming back was a bad idea, but atleast Judd Winnick wrote the damn thing pretty well. DC needs a go to guy, of sorts, who understand the Batman mythos (ne for every major character maybe?), every story idea should go through this guy first. So crap like Leslie and him getting knocked on his ass by Hal Jordan will never happen again.

nice sig ^

except for the fact that many retcons have been invaluable for Batman comics.....:cwink:

it was retconned, Batman beats some guy up for attacking her clinic in a recent issue, if I'm remembering right...

In Grotesk? That was Leslie's old clinic I think, but it doesn't mean her killing Steph was retconned.

that was a chick in leslie's old clinic, but i do not believe leslie ever appeared....nor were her actions ever referenced.

I think he would have called it by it's real name, and not "Leslie Thompkins clinic" just out of spite if those events were still in continuity though...Batman is like that :o

It was said by a very smart man. But I mean it post 1986 Crisis. I understand what you mean, but anything after 1986 was pointless really.

batman may be like that....but the mediocre writer of Grotesk isnt that smart.

i think the jusry is still out on whether or not it was retconned. im sure DC hasnt even given it much though. what'll like happen is, it will never be addressed until some writer comes along and is like, "hey, can i use leslie in a story....and we'll just chalk her appearance up to that whole infinite crisis thing a few years back?"

I remember reading somewhere an interview with somebody or other, and yeah, it's been retconned. I guess she just dies of the injuries by Black Mask now.

That's why I hate retconning. It's just such a lazy thing to do.

This WILL be retconned. I mean, what they did.....the way they did it....just didn't make any sense.

I mean, Leslie explained it....but it was so against the character we've known for so long.
