Lethal Weapon V

they need to get Shane Black back. 3 and 4 werent as good cause he didnt write any of them. He actually wanted Riggs to die in the second one.

Killing Riggs was a silly idea. I'm glad Donner said, "no."

Leave the little kids alone Catman.:whatever:

And why is it a bad idea? They kidnap the kids who are like 10 yrs old now and the whole movie is Riggs and Murtach trying to find them. It would be like Lethal Weapon 2 when Riggs was avenging his wife's death.

It was never dark in the first place, just sober and serious and lacking the Three Stoges comedy of latter instalments.

Riggs putting a gun in his mouth was pretty dark IMO.

That doesn't make it a dark film. It was very sad and almost tragic, but we empathise with Riggs and we don't want him to do it.

It has moments of darkness but it's not a dark film.

Watching the first one right now. The scene with the rooftop jumper is classic. And then:

"You're not tryin' to draw psycho pension...you really are crazy!"

Mel's got the crazy eye, haha

I actually like the third one. Its my favorite of the bunch. I'm all for seeing a 5th one if the story was good and it was the Last one, kinda of like Rocky Balboa.

LOL

:woot:

Hell. Yes!

LETHAL 2 is one of the best sequel in ANY franchise, imo.

Btw but I recall Donner saying the plot had both of them coming out of retirment...and also....

is chris rock gonna be in it???? And Joe pesci BETTER be in it!!

i loved the series, but it was kind of annoying how Riggs went from being something like one of the 15 most dangerous men on the planet, to being beaten up by some cop boxer in the ring and Jet Li so easily

He got old and soft. :csad:

The story has to be incredible if they want to get mel back. It's not like he needs to do this. His last two movies did very well and he made enough money off the Passion of the Christ alone to retire. If they do it, I hope they get shane black to not only write but direct as well. I think black did a good job on kiss kiss bang bang.

I think he was plenty rich enough to retire long before TPOTC.

I liked LW4...better than 2 and 3, anyway. Original's my favorite. If they cut out Chris Rock (please) and keep the jokes to a minimum, then I'm all for it.

If Shane Black was writing AND directing, I'd be first in line.

OT: Anyone else feel like KKBB really got screwed over for no good reason? You'd think a movie with such recognizable stars and Joel Silver as producer, there'd have been more of a marketing push for it. Not to mention theater coverage. The movie only played at one theater in my general area for about three weeks. I almost missed the last showing before it came out of theaters.

KKBB was hilarious, but I can see why it didn't do so well. Not exactly a very accesible film.

Something bothered me about Lethal Weapon 3 I don't know what it was. I guess the order I like them in is: 2,1,4,3

Not sure yet, so little info to go on. I liked the way that 4 sort of wrapped everything up. I felt great closure on these films. Having a 5th installment may skew the qualith a little more. I felt there was a decline with every movie, four still being great but not as good as one. I just hope five does not follow that pattern if it happens.

^ Really. Part one was a blast but I enjoyed 2 even more. 3 was a letdown and 4 picked it back up a bit mainly thanks to Jet Li. I was pissed in 3 with Mel's short hair though.

Yeah but don't get me wrong when I say decline I really mean each film was awesome. But I just love the roof jump from number 1...never beat that moment. Although 4 had a great moment at the end, underwater count down and that classic guitar riff! So cool.

I liked that part in 2 when they attacked his trailer, and espcially the rage attack. And don't forget "...just shooting the breeze...and some fish!". LOL

Lethal Weapon 4 was only made because Superman Lives! failed to show up for summer 1998. Warner Bros had only eight months to get a film ready, and they just threw money at the Lethal Weapon crew to save their bacon. You can tell by watching it that it's little more than an unexpected cast reunion, with expensive stunts and guest stars. If Donner had time to think about what he was doing, he would have probably made something more dramatic out of it.

Lethal 4 is flawed but still fun to watch. It atleast accomplished something. Plus, it introduced American audiences to Jet Li.

please no... I think thats enough for LW let s try new things :csad:
